Hello,
Actually I just answered a similar question on how to open the power nozzle on a Sears Kenmore. The Sears Kenmore is actually made by Panasonic, and the repair is identical to replace the belt. Here's my other repair solution that includes a link to the Panasonic instruction manual that will walk you right through this repair;
I will also explain how to access the roller
brush below, and if you'd like to see diagrams of how to do it, you may
visit the link below to the Panasonic owners manual. Start at page 46,
then go back to page 40.
http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/MCCG973-MUL.pdfIn
order to access the roller brush on this model, here's what you need to
do. Underneath of the headlight cover, there are two screws that need
to removed first. In order to get to these screws, simply push on
both sides of the headlight cover, and lift it straight up while pushing
both sides. After the headlight cover has been removed, you'll be
able to visibly see the two screws that need to be unscrewed (phillips
head screw driver). Remove these two screws next.
After the
screws have been removed, turn the power head upside. If you look at
both the left and the right sides, you'll see a little indentation on
each side. All you need to do is put a flat head screwdriver in these
indentations, and pry up on both sides. This will remove the top
housing. Once you have top housing removed, you'll see there's one
more cover that goes over the roller brush. There are two tabs on both
sides behind the roller brush. If you squeeze these two tabs, you can
now remove the white colored housing that covers the brush, and have
full access to the brush.
I hope that this helps you repair your belt. If you found this repair helpful, please be

up icons in the top right hand corner. If you have any other questions
about how to repair this, please feel free to request a clarification,
or add a comment to the repair, and I'll be more then happy to help you.
Thanks
very much,
Chris Jones
