I have a 3wh. 'LR'model Pride scooter for

I'd be looking at the motor controller first. Since you don't have any flashing leds to indicate a problem, perhaps the brushes on the motors need replacing.

Why does my scooter stick in reverse when i push forward & stop when i push reverse

Hi, it could be that the throttle has turned around within the throttle lever therefore no longer centre, look under the throttle stem, you should see a cross head now that should be in align with you when sitting on the scooter...you will need to loosen the throttle and realign if that is the case... The horn will beep, but the power meter shows no

It sounds like the batteries have gone bad and need to be replaced. Very little power is needed to operate the horn, but much more is needed to make the motors work.

The batteries contain a gel that needs to have current run through it on a regular basis (at least 8 hours once a week) or it will oxidize and solidify. If you attach the charger, what will most likely happen is the green light will either stay green or go to green after a very short time. When you turn on the power chair, nothing happens. The charger will indicate the batteries are full, but instead of being full of power, they are full of crud. Your warranty will most likely not cover replacement as this is due to customer neglect, but your insurance may still cover the replacement batteries if you can wait for the process to go through. Otherwise, you will need to replace the batteries on your own, type U1, 24v 33 amp, approx. $125 each at Batteries Plus or Interstate Battery. Good luck!

Battery won't charge, how do i take battery out of

Remove the seat by depressing a lever on the right side of the chair and pulling upward. there is a boot that covers the shaft of the seat rest. remove the boot and check for a pin with a ring on it. Once this is gone remove the shroud and you will find the batteries. Remove them with care and do a cursory check of all connectors. Some units have a 30 amp fuse on series with the batteries. Make sure the fuses aren't causing your trouble. Be certain to replace the batteries with the right polarity (positive to positive, etc...) Hope this helps.

I have a Lyra 4.

Let me take a shot at this, batteries are fully charged ,and it wont move at all in the slow settings.I would check for looseness in your throttle ,make sure its responding correctly when you want to go forward and reverse .second i would check your speed knob make sure its not loss or coming off, i have dealt with many problems like this one in the past and the knob was just lose and needed tighten ,and if everything checks out you are more likely dealing with a bad speed pot, which would be that knob you turn your speed up with.that would cause you not to move in your slow settings.

good luck hope i was of some help.

I turn key on celebrity

Are the lights flashing or steady? If they are steady and indicate that the battery is charged, make sure that the freewheel/manual brake release lever is in the drive position. If the lights are blinking, then you can visit this site to locate the type of controller on your scooter to try and determine what the problem may be: http://www.pgdt.com/scenter/diagnostics/diagvsi.html
If you continue to have problems, please contact Pride Mobility Technical Support for assistance.
Good luck!

I bought this scooter on craigslist, batterys

If the batteries are good, you have solved 80% of most scooter problems. You have described the following problem:

You have a flash code of 9, that is the status light flashes 9 times, then there is a pause, then flashes 9 times again and the scooter will not drive.

This means that you have an internal controller problem. The only solution to this problem is to replace the controller (computer module). The controller is located under a plastic cover under your feet when you are sitting in the scooter. Remove this plastic cover and remove the aluminum cover of the controller inspecting for burnt and melted wiring.

You should have the manufacturer run the serial number for this scooter to verify the correct component parts (Pride 800-800-8586). Pride can also verify if the parts are covered under warranty. Warranty repairs need to be done by a certified technician or a dealer.

The R series controller for this scooter runs $230 retail. All the associated wiring harnesses plugged into it (if melted or damaged) will run another $230. Labor is about 1 hour and you can do it yourself. Take off all the covers and plug the wiring harnesses in one at a time noting how they are run.

I have seen the wiring and plugs melted where they plug into the controller, so inspect this area carefully.

You can test the motor with a digital voltmeter. Unplug the motor and put your test leads across the red and black connectors . The resistance should be between .5 and 1.5 ohms for a good motor. Test the motor brake by reading the resistance across the 2 white connectors. It should read between 30-35 ohms across the brake. Hope this helps.
