Panasonic NN-S954WF Microwave Oven Questions & Answers
6 year old Panasonic 1250W High Power Inverter
These early inverter microwaves blew their high current power transistors quite regularly. These high current power transistors are quite expensive to replace, and if one blows, there is a likelyhood of others blowing. As the microwave is over 13 years old, I'd suggest getting a new one. Inverter technology in microwaves is now a mature technology, resulting in reasonable prices and much improved reliability.

Shuts off after approx 5 - 7 sec. some smoke
If
it stops after 7 seconds, it has a problem with the inverter.
If
the digital programmer circuit / controller does not get a feedback
signal from the inverter for a period of 3 seconds, the controller will
stop the cook cycle. It may be a loose connection in the wiring between the
inverter, magnetron, and/or control board, or maybe one of
those
components has failed.
Due to the lethal
voltages used and produced in inverters, I do not recommend that an
inexperienced person work on these.

My panasonic microwave NN-S954WF will run a few seconds and then stop. What should I check?
If
it stops after 22 seconds, that means the controller has detected a
problem, usually a problem with the inverter,
controller, magnetron, or a bad connection from one or the
other.If it stops at 16
seconds and is a sensor model, it probably has a defective humidity
sensor.If
it stops after 7 seconds, it has a problem with the inverter. If it stops at 2-3 seconds, see if this describes
what's happening:
- Put
in time, push start and unit runs
for 2 seconds, relay clicks, unit goes off. Cook time on display goes
off and clock time comes back. Bad upper interlock switch and charred
connector
If so, see

signal from the inverter for a period of 3 seconds, the controller will
stop the cook cycle.

The door switch has failed and must be replaced.
In Canada B & E industrial electronics (Calgary) carries the switches typically used for microwave doors (~$5). Reliable parts carries the whole assembly of 3 switches and the plastic interlock housing for about $25. Probably worth calling your local industrial electronics supplier. Never purchased online but should be available from any online electronics reseller.
Honeywell is another manufacturer (see Microswitches)...
HONEYWELL HIGH FORCE PIN PLUNGER 15A Part # V71C17D8
Allied Electronics Online (US) carries the same switch which is interchangable with yours.
Honeywell / MicroswitchSwitch, Miniature, Basic, SPDT, PIN PLUNGER Actuator, QUICK CONNECT TERMINATION
(Are you getting all these numbers off the switch itself as the OMRON RE2 sounds a bit like a relay number...?)

Don't turn the dishe
there are 3 things that can be wrong 1st the stepping motor under the plate could be broken the motor is made up of lots of plastic gears to get to it you will have to turn the unit on its side so you the bottom of the unit remember to take the plate out 1st in the middle of the base of the unit you will see a panel where the motor is this needs to be cut out to gain access to the motor this will have 1 screw holding the motor in place 2nd and while you have the motor out you need to look at the coupling thats the part that the plate sits on as you remove the motor it will fall inside the oven pick it up and look to see if it has a split in the side as when the motor turns if the coupling has a split in it the motor wil just turn inside it 3rd the motor may not be getting any power from the pcb but u will need a test meter for this so try 1 and 2 thn if tht doesnt work it will need to go into a shop

Panasonic nn-sn667b 1300w dead
You might consider just replacing the inverter assembly itself.
It will cost more than replacing the bad discrete components of course, but you would be avoiding the time and money involved in parts research, trial and error, and possible destruction of any newly installed parts if there remain other undiscovered defective components.
The inverter assembly (part # F606Y8M00AP) can be had for $79.12
here.Otherwise, you would need to order the service manual, which is not listed by the major Panasonic distributors.
The service manual should be # SM-NNSN667.
The best place to order
Sharp parts is Tritronics. Or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.
In this case, call might be more productive to track down the service manual.
Good luck, and be safe.

if you are talking about the transformer then it will need replacing , because it is about to quit on you and then the microwave will not work at all
are you going to do the repair yourself? or are you going to need to take it to a qualified service shop?

Voltage in home down when start microwave
Either the outlet for the microwave is not on its own breaker (which it always should be) or there is a loose screw connection or oxidation in the circuit breaker panel.
If the bad connection is on the neutral wire, this can create a dangerous condition.
You should measure (or have a pro measure) your voltage in various outlet s in the home.
If you have low voltage on some and high on others, you have a faulty neutral.
This can be serious. It should be checked.

3 second cooking time
It's possible a sensor or thermistor got unplugged during your work and didn't get plugged back in.
Otherwise, I would suspect the microprocessor got "glitched".
If so, *maybe* unplugging the oven from the power line for a few minutes will reset it. Or maybe the unit has a reset button or another reset procedure (I doubt that, but check the manual).
Sadly, another common cause for this is that the code in the microprocessor gets irretrievably corrupted.
In such cases, we can replace micro if it is available. It it's no longer available, that would make the whole microwave a goner.
Looks like both the micro (LSI display) and the whole control board for this model are available from Panasonic parts: http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/epartr

I have a Panasonic genius dimension4 nn-9853
Most probably the low voltage transformer of in the control panel is open . It has a thermal fuse which is between pin1 and pin 5 of the low voltage transformer. This fuse is however inside the transformer. If you get a DC resistance of about 350- 400 ohms between pin 5 and 6 of the transormer , connect an external 500ma fuse between pin 1 and pin5
