I NEED AN OWNERS MANUAL

As a 30 year EMT, I think I can help you.

There's 2 numbers that make up your blood pressure. The top number is called the Systolic pressure. The bottom number is call the Diastolic pressure. When a blood pressure is taken, it's measuring the pressure that the heart is producing when it pumps blood through the arteries. For example, what's considered a normal blood pressure in a healthy individual is in the range of 120/80. Of course age, life style and other health conditions, play a role in what yours may be. A person with High blood pressure or Hypertension would have a blood pressure of over 160 - Systolic and over 90+ Diastolic. 90 is actually the borderline for hypertension. That's why I indicated 90+.

The other reading on your monitor is your heart rate or pulse rate. It's how many beats your heart completes in one minute. It also indicates an irregular heart beat by the showing a small LED window on the left of the screen adjacent to the Systolic pressure reading, It will say IHB. Any movement or shaking or talking during the measurement can result in pulse irregularities. So hold very still when taking your blood pressure. This irregularity by itself is not of much concern, unless it shows up frequently. In which case, you should seek medical advice.

That covers just about all there is to know about what the readings mean. Armed with this, you should be able to effectively monitor your blood pressure and pulse rate and report them to your doctor.

Hope I was able to help you understand how it works and what it's telling you. if so, please let me know, by rating my response to you. Thanks and have a healthy day.

Showing ee in the diastolic

There are 3 things can cause the EE error code.

1. Cuff was placed incorrectly. Wrap cuff snugly around your wrist 1" above the heel of your left hand.

2. Moving or talking during measurement. Measure again keeping your wrist steady during measurement.

3. Shaking of the wrist with the cuff on. Solution is the same as # 2.

If you continue to have a problem with the cuff, contact HoMedics Customer Support 1-800-466-3342.

I hope this info was helpful and thanks for choosing FixYa.

When the blood pressure monitor reads E- error.

It depends on which E-error you're getting.

EE - indicates several things:
  • Cuff has been placed incorrectly. Always place cuff on wrist 1" above heal of hand.
  • Did you talk or move during measurement?
  • Shaking of the wrist with the cuff ON.
E1 - Air circuit abnormality. Measure again.

E2 - Inflation pressure exceeding 300 mmHg. Switch the unit OFF.Wait 1 minute, then measure again.

E3 - Error determining measurement data. Measure again.

Hope this helped you to determine which Error you're receiving. Please let me know.

My wrist moniter nearly sent

As an EMT, I have one these BP Monitors and have found it very reliable. However, it if is not applied correctly to the wrist, you can get false readings. Also, not having your arm/wrist at heart level could throw the reading off. If this happens again, switch arms and see if the readings are the same.

I'm also curious as to what the monitor showed your heart rate was? And was it regular or irregular?

This monitor is manufactured by Homedics for Walgreen and has a good warranty. If you still have concerns about it's accuracy, return it to Walgreens or follow the instructions in the Owners Manual about returning it to Homedics for repair of replacement.

Hope this helps to calm your anxiety.

2. Did you talk or move during measurement? Solution: Measure again. Keep wrist steady at heart level during measurement.

3. Shaking or moving of the wrist with the cuff on. Solution: Same as # 2.

NOTE: Be sure the cuff is placed exactly as pictured on the face of the box, 1/2" above the heel of the hand.
