Somehow we disarmed our lock

It sounds like you somehow activated the hold open feature of this lock. After following the advice already suggested did the lock reset itself and go back to the function you expected?

What would cause the red light to stay on all the time. This is killing my batteries

Steve-I have reviewed the on-line installation information for the DL2700 and I do not see your particular scenario listed (red LED staying on). Here is the website link:www.alarmlock.com/I therefore suggest that you call Alarm Lock (the manufacturer) directly with your problem for their assistance. The number is 1-800-252-5625. They are located in New York, so you will probably want to call during East-coast business hours. Be sure and have any model number and purchase date info on hand when you call.Good luck!
