I cannot rewrite 3-page instruction manual and include illustrations in small space allowed at fixya

DT500 is incandescent timer meant to control a lamp, and not necessarily made for TVs and toaster oven etc.
Timer has limited lifetime warranty.

If that doesn't work then google Intermatic DT500CH pdf and select the return from Intermatic. It's a good timer but not intuitive. I had to look up the manual just to change from daylight savings time.

It sounds like the button contacts aren't making good contact. If you can get behind them you can spray them with electrical switch cleaner. ..

Press P (program )on the timer and display will show then change the desired day, time and minute using the D+, H+ and M+ buttons. Press P again to set up another program and repeat the second step as above
