Flotec 1/4 Horsepower Sink Pump System Questions & Answers
How to clean a sink flotec pump
It sounds like the float is stuck. Try pulling the wires coming out of the tank(shake them a little) and see if that will free the float and shut the pump off

The pump just started running
These units have a "check" valve on the discharge pipe which is a one way flow valve. If debris or sludge get caught in the check valve it gets held open allowing water to backflow. Remove and clean or replace the check valve.
I have a 1 month old Model FPOS1775A Flotec pump.
If the pump is only pumping for a few seconds at a time it may be a problem with the control board. On two of mine, the 10mf 100v smd capacitor came loose. Resoldered and potted with hot melt glue. One of them is working with the other yet to be tested. Don't recall what the exact symptoms were, only that it wasn't continuously pumping water while submerged.
Unit is oil filled so should be dismantled in the upright position.
I have a Flotec FP0S1775A
1 inch of water is probably not enough water to set off the pump. The water level must be high enough to float the switch ball beyond 90 degrees of level before it will activate the pump. The pump will not evacuate all of the water there will always be some water left in the tank this prevents the pump from a dry start.
I have a Flotec Intellipump
Most pool water from the season before usually contain a lot of sediment, leaves and things like that. These pumps were not designed for continuous use, like draining a pool. Either it has a bunch of junk in it, or the motor just gave up.

Pump will not shut off
Hi,
Either the float has gone bad or the float is stuck...
give it a kick or a slap and see if that dislodges the float...
If the pump continues to run, open it up and make sure the float has dropped...if it has then the float will need to be replaced...

Please find above a manual for your unit.
You obviously have a clog (partial) in the drain line. The sump pump pushes a lot of water at one time and the clog is making the water back up into your sink. If the pump wasn't going off so often, I would suggest using an enzyme drain cleaner such as Draincare. Problem is, it takes overnight to work. You may have to snake the drain line to get it cleared out in a short amount of time. The sump will have to be turned off while this is done. Good luck.
FLOTEC MOD # FPOS1800LTS-08 LEAK
It actually sounds like you really need an entire nw unit. I fear that this existing one, is beyond repair, you would have to remake the connections through the grommet, and the grommet too.
I guess you could remove it and try and refurbish it. replace the wiring to the motor. reassemble and reinstall.
Pump not kick in
the float has a mercury switch and that is what will make it turn on and off. this ball sounds like it is not working correctly. you will have to replace it. just the ball
