Can you help me? I have generator yamaha ef 2600.

As you describe the problem, the reason is unstable load handling.
This means that the fuel or air is not enough.

When begin to be unsteady:
  1. If smoke comes out of muffler - the input air is not sufficient. Try to clean or change air filter (cleaner).
  2. If no smoke, the fuel is not enough. The reason may be the mechanical governor, or the fuel supply to it, fuel filter/strainer etc.

I have ef 2300, engine

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly
On the rotor you need to read from the rectifier to the metal for shorts. No shorts allowed. There is a varistor as part of the rotor winding circuit and if the varistor has failed the rotor will not work. If the vairstor fails usually there is a problem with the rotor wnding. I can tell you I have had them read just fine wire to wire but... they were still defective.

Also check the condenser wires from the control panel through the stator winding. (usually yellow) Disconnect one of the wires from the condenser and probe the terminals. This should read less than 5 ohms. INSPECT the condensor wires..... there is often a quick disconnect terminal somewhere in the wires. These terminals are cylinder shaped and have been known to melt.
Read across the condensor itself with the meter on R x 10K you should see a momentary jump in resistance and then the meter drifts quickly to infinity each time you REVERSE the test leads and probe the condenser.

There is also a SQUARE diode pack with 3 or 4 wires inside the control panel that usually has a single mounting screw. One terminal will be 90 deg out from the rest of them (Common) read the terminals of the diode pack to the common. Reverse the leads and do it again. If should read continuity in one polarity and open in the other (leads reversed).

As for the stator checks reading wire to wire is good... but read wire to stator case also. No shorts allowed.

I believe you will either find a bad rotor or a problem in the condenser circuit.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Generator has voltage drop, why?

Most of the small portable generators will depend on the engine speed to regulate the voltage. If the motor is at the correct speed you are getting 120 volts 60 hertz, if not it will read lower like 115 volts 55 hertz or so. This can be fixed by adjusting the governor, or idle speed needle. I have a Yamaha Ef2600 fw generator that starts and produces voltage and current but also gives out a 'clunking' noise on a 2 - 4 second cycle. What is wrong with it?

Based on the search results there are a explanations, for the clunking noise in your Yamaha EF2600FW generator; 1. Load handling; One potential reason could be that the generator is facing difficulties in managing the load, which could be due to fuel or air supply. This can result in the generator producing a clunking noise. 2. Fuel shortage; Another possible cause might be a lack of fuel supply to the generator leading to a knocking sound. It is advisable to address this fuel issue before operating the generator to prevent any damage. 3. Storage conditions; The clunking noise could also arise from storage conditions. Over time certain components like piston slap or dry rod bearings may develop problems resulting in sounds when the generator is running. To diagnose and resolve the problem with your generator it is recommended that you take the steps; Check and ensure a fuel supply. If needed, clean or replace the carburetor. Inspect the generator thoroughly for any signs of damage or wear in areas like piston and rod bearings. These actions should help. Rectify any issues causing the clunking noise, in your Yamaha EF2600FW generator. If the problem continues you might need to reach out to a technician or get in touch, with Yamaha customer support for help. Always prioritize safety when dealing with generators or any other equipment. If you feel uncertain or uncomfortable about troubleshooting or making repairs yourself it's best to seek assistance, from a professional.

No power generation

The reasons of no power generation: 1. The voltmeter of the control panel is damaged or the wiring is in poor contact. This situation is generally after the diesel generator starts normally, and the voltage on the meter sometimes does not move. It is necessary to use a multimeter to measure the U, V, W, N phases of the motor, and the phases between U, V, and W. The voltage is about 400v, and the voltage between single-phase U, V, W and N is about 230v. 2. The air switch on the electric ball in the diesel generator is damaged: the phenomenon that occurs is that the diesel generator is normal when it is started, and it trips when the load is turned on. 3. Brushed motor equipped with diesel generator: The disadvantage of brushed motor is that demagnetization occurs occasionally, so it is necessary to keep 1-2 pairs of carbon brushes to prevent this situation. 4. The starting elements are not reached: the starting elements of diesel generators refer to the speed of 1500 rpm, frequency of 50HZ, and voltage of 400v. Many users feel that the noise of diesel generators will be very large when this data value is reached, so they reduce the speed by themselves. , the consequence is that the voltage is not enough, the frequency is not enough, and the power is not generated. After a long time, the power of the diesel generator will be insufficient. 5. Damage to the voltage regulating plate: The function of the voltage regulating plate is to adjust the excitation current correspondingly according to the change of the generator load, so as to maintain the terminal voltage as a given value, which can obviously smell the smell of burning. The above are the common reasons for the failure of diesel generators to generate electricity summarized by our editor. We hereby suggest that if your diesel generator has not expired, please contact the diesel generator manufacturer to provide guidance on operation, and try not to repair it yourself. How to fix surging

Very old thread but here goes., My 2400is was surging under light load but I was able to fix that with a new idle jet and thorugh carb cleaning. Now, it doesn't respond to various loads and will not rev up, ie., stays at idle and quits. Manually opening the throttle works fine. I took out the solenoid and cleaned the spindle but didn't help. When it was out, turning it had some resistance (felt like a rehostat, a bit rough and definitely not spinning freely) . Dunno how it should feel but, for example, with the engine not running if I move the throttle (controlled by the solenoid) it will "stick" in that position and not return to the idle position by the return spring. Would like to know if that's normal or not! With the engine running, it will return to the idle position and I use a clothespin to keep the revs up even under no load. At least that way it stays running and supplies adequate power. Ideas?

Yamaha 2000 generator won't produce power, runs fine otherwise

The generator does not operate in accordance with the specified technical conditions, such as too high stator voltage, iron loss increases; if the load current is too large, the copper loss of the stator winding increases; if the frequency is too low, the cooling fan speed becomes slow, affecting the heat dissipation of generator; the power factor is too low, so that the rotor excitation current increases, resulting in the rotor heating. Check whether the indication of monitoring instrument is normal. If it is abnormal, necessary adjustment and treatment must be carried out to operate the generator in accordance with the specified technical conditions.
