if it a has been used a lot as mine was you will have to replace transmission you can buy new or used as i did

I would guess that either the belt is streched or one of the springs on the pulleys is missing check all moveing pulleys for weak or missing springs

I had a similar problem on my 42" MTD riding mower, the vent in the gas cap was plugged up. Replaced the gas tank cap and it fixed it (Lowes sells them)

the battery for a garden tractor should have the holes already in it if not you can buy a clamp that you can use that has a hole for what you need. good luck

that may be the problem the brake might still be on back off nut in the middle of brake asssembly
