I'm not sure exactly what you are asking..Can you clarify your question about the serial numbers...

Does it have good fresh dry fuel in it? Have you dumped the water bowl recently? Check that.

You need to your local John Deere dealer.

Sound like a valve body problem.

Are you sure it is the correct blade and when it is turning the sharp edge is on the leading side? A spinning blade will cut grass even if the blade is dull. Did you lower the deck to the correct level?

Remove spark plug or plugs. May have flooded, cyline may be full of gas,

jd lt 166 has 5 different decks
3 of which have the same belt routing
1st the belt needs to be adjusted correctly to stop it from "slacking off"
then on most decks the belt is routed in between the 2 small idler pulleys and then to the engine pulley
so let me know the deck i.e. 36", 42 ", 46", 48"
different belt sizes also

Full full Up... hmmm sounds like the Cylinders are slightly c ocked and bound up.

The starting circuit is dependent upon the clutch safety ans PTO being off. Here are some steps to take: 1. Ensure battery is fully charged 2. Turn key on and turn PTO on then back off. Listen for clunk 3. Press clutch in fully and turn key to start position. If still no sound at all, hold key in start position and move clutch foot up and down, listening for solenoid click. If click but no crank, starter or solenoid or battery cable connection is bad. Start by wiggling cables, looking for any looseness. Next check solenoid and cables. If that doesn't fix it, starter or solenoid may be bad. There may be a fuse in the circuit. Check them out also. if it cranks but doesn't start, you have a fuel or ignition problem. Good luck.
