I have a napoleon propane gas fireplace..i need a
whats parts do you need? I can help with it if I knew the parts, all yo uneed to get parts is the model and serial # and your local parts palce will set you up. but i can help with it if i knew part you wanted and why you want it to make sure you need it.
I have a napoleon gas stove. My remote won't start
the Knob on gas valve has to be in the ON position for it to work, the receiver for your remote is inside the bottom lourve door, check to see that it is set to REMOTE and not ON/OFF, the receiver has batteries as well, I know you may already know this but trust me I have driven 200 kms to get to a home and put batteries in there LOL. costly !!! with receiver set to remote and gas valve set to on, and your on/off switch if you have one set to off, you should be good and remote work. the click you hear is the gas valve sensing your remote!!! if this doesnt work you may need a thermopile, it may be too weak to open valve but i think its the switches . gl keep me posted
Nothing happens when we flip
is the gas valve turned to ON position?try to jump the top and bottom screws on the gas valve, there are 3 in a row there inside the bottom door on valve. use a small wire to jump it no risk of shock its milivolts and you wont even feel it. if unit lights you have a swich problem or wire problem
The pilot stays on but the burner willnot operate
thormopile may be gone or your wires or switch have bad connection, try taking a small jumper wire and with pilot lit , jump out the valve on the top and bottom screws on the gas valve located inside bottom door. no danger of shock seing this is low voltage and cannot shock you , you can't ever fell it. if unit lights then check wires at switch and gas valve
Can't get it lit
instruction on a metal plate inside the fp bottom door
the knob will have pilot/ on/off marked on it on gas valve, you have to line the pilot word up with the white mark on valve then knob can press all the way in, now press it in hit the res or black sparker button and you should get pilot falme in a few tries, once you see flame keep the button in on valve for 30 secs then release turn it to ON and turn youe switch on
Does this fireplace use a cirulating fan?
it has a fan as an option safe to use without! fan are located on very back if you look in bottom door, if it is an insert the fan may be located behind a panel behind the logs. if vented through a wall fan is underneath and has a heat sensor and comes on after fp runs for 10 minutes
I can not lit the pilot
it sounds like air in the pilot tube its a very small hole in the pilot and takes ages to come through undo
the pilot tube at the gas valve and see if you have gas coming while depressing the the knob
I have a napoleon wood fireplace, I just installed
an open fireplace is not going to heat your house only 5 feet in front of the fire place. 75% of the heat goes out your chimney and burns the wood very fast. sorry to say but if you are looking for heat you installed the wrong unit!
Piolet lights, turn control knob to on position
This sounds like you have a split in your venting, the reason for the flame to snuff out like that would be that its getting exhaust cycling back into the burn chamber. Test this by taking the door off and running the unit, if the flame stays and doesn't go out then start looking at the venting, either its split or clogged.
Gas logs while turned on seem to fade, nearly go
you must keep the burner and the pilot light area clean and free of dust also, the area where your burner gets air most of the time it has an adjustment to give it more or less air.I have had my dyna glo vent free model for 8 years.A good cleaning in late fall with low pressure air and 1 or 2 times through the winter depending on conditions of use.

Fireplace will not stay lit and pilot light is on
This sounds like the high temperature switch has failed and is telling the unit to shut down after it gets started, the pilot has to be lit for the main gas valve to turn on when the thermostat calls for heat, The main burner comes on and stays on until the thermostat is satisfied and tells it to shut off, you dont say if there is a blower in this unit, if there is a blower after the main flame comes on the unit heats up it turns on the blower if equiped. If the blower fails to turn on the unit would be shut down on overtemp as the firebox would get to hot and be in danger of causeing a fire. if no blower there still is an overtemp switch that shuts the unit down if it gets to hot or the switch is bad, it could be a bad overtemp switch or if equiped a bad blower motor or even a plugged chimney as this would also cause a overheat ing condition. Hope This Helps Don
I have a pellet stove and the glass soots up very
Most of the pellet stoves I have seen have a part that pushes air up in front of the glass. See if you have a part that you are not sure of where it goes. If you do, try it in a way to push air in front of glass. You may have to contact the company that produced it and get one from them. Another thought, there may be holes in the floor of the stove that have been plugged by ash or something. If there are, clean them out. Good luck...Lee
