Gas fireplace lights up but only half the burner stays on after running for a few minutes
Do not operate this fireplace until problem is solved.Could be low gas pressure, or dirty combustion parts, or bad gas control valve.Contact gas company immediately for specialist in area.If burner is dirty and clogged, then unburned, explosive gas can be going up the flueway. This is a dangerous condition that needs to be addressed before putting fireplace back into service.Web-search your specific brand and model number, and include .pdf in search parameter for possible downloadable product manual.Read product manual for advisories and maintenance and troubleshoot and warranty. Moved insert about 3inches stove won't light
1st guess: moving the insert shook loose some rust in the pilot assembly, which is now blocking the flow of gas to the pilot.Remove pilot hood if possible and/or clean out with compressed air.good luck :-)
Napoleon Fireplace propane Pilot won't light main burner even though gas flows in?
- I'm going to assume your fireplace has a pilot light.
- Follow the little holes in the burner that lead to the pilot light.
- Make sure the pilot flame is pointing directly at the closest burner hole. (adjust if necessary).
- Often, you will need to sprinkle a layer of "glowing embers" in this area. The embers will help the gas travel to the pilot light and ignite.
- Always start your propane appliance on "High" never "Low". Cold propane likes to drop to the bottom of the firebox and accumulate until it reaches the pilot (this is called delayed ignition). Keeping it on "high" will help the fuel travel over to the pilot without buildup.
I changed my thermocouple on my fireplace,it still wont stay lit
Thermocouple keeps the pilot lit.Thermopile keeps the burner lit. Please specify what won't stay lit...If it's the burner, you may need to change the thermopile as well.If the pilot still won't stay lit, you will want to make sure that the pilot flame is large enough to completely engulf the thermocouple and keep it hot. If it's too small, you may need to take some compressed air and blow out the pilot hood to remove any blockage.
Thermopile
Not thermopile. If your pilot will not remain lit, you need a thermo-couple. This is the device that allows the pilot to remain lit.If you can't even get it lit, you will need to check if there is blockage preventing gas from coming out of the pilot orifice.
Need a blower
My guess is that you will need a GZ550 found
HERE.Alternatively, you could use a universal fan kit like
THIS ONE.The universal fireplace fan kit will be an easier installation and utilizes an electronic speed control.
Gas fireplace won't light up even when pilot light is on
Check for how clean the bottom of the unit is. I know it seems small but when dealing with these amounts of electric current they are just that "small" and the dust can be shorting out the unit and not allowing the gas valve to release the gas. Its a safety thing, they dont want gas around an electrical short "go figure" lol
