It sounds like the wear ring on the impeller is hitting the diffuser. If it is new call Hayward to fix it under warrenty

you don't say the volume of the pool, but if the 1.5 was working before and you are not adding too many turns, it will work.

You dont really need to change anything ... just keep it in high speed. If you really want to remove the switch, remove the cover, follow the wires and comlete the circuit that is for the high speed setting. You will need a volt meter with contunity setting to complete this task.

sounds like the tank is cracked. bummer .. if you remove the motor from the tank and let the tank dry you can see the cracks as small black lines, and there is no real good patch for this, i recomend to all of my customers to sclicone the seal plate to the tank body do to the pumps poor design.. yo just might need a new tank assy there not cheap so i recommend you hunt down your local pool pump motor repair guy with free testing and see if he has a used one and how to install it so to get best performance out of it.. these guys know pumps and can save you thousands of dollhairs over the years.. a used tank $50 or less .. Any pool store in your area should have a 201 mechanical seal available. If not, try looking under pump repair for a shop in your area. It is a very common seal and is interchangeable with the Hayward super pump seal so it should not be hard to find.

You probably can but don't. Use the online price to negotiate a better deal with the installer, then if it goes wrong they can't say "you bought the pump so it is not my responsibility" etc. Better to let the installer give you a comprehensive warranty.

It cost's more and thats it unless you have the switching to run it. If so you can use low speed to clean and heat to save money on your elect. bill.

Probally it is your plumbing in and out of the pump has shrunk from the heat and causing it to **** air. You will need to replumb and do the pressure side of the pump at the same time as it has probally shrunk also and will leak water when you get it going. Just for good measure you should do the pump seal at the same time.

Take the two sections apart, remove the seal and put the two sections back together.You will be able to see any gaps if they are warped. A straight edge might work too. Also inspect the surfaces for any cracks. The can get a hairline crack if the sections are tightened to tight, and the seal is out of the grooves. If all is ok, silicone the seal, silicone the grooves, then put the pump back together. This will help keep the seal in place. I just use a pool/spa sealer like Leslies Pool and spa lubricant.

Nope.... just replace the motor.... Some shops will redo bearings, but usually a 30 day warranty and a long wait.. Walk out the door with a new one with usually a 1 year warranty...

Is the pump 120V or 220V? 120V you will need a 20 A breaker. 220V you will only need a 15 A breaker.

I would think so. It is probally a newer model with heaver ribs or stronger plastic. They find weakness in these and fix the newer ones. So I would guess so.

Sounds like the motor is not turning. Check your impeller and motor to see if it spins freely by hand.

If not then you either have something stuck in the pump or the bearings are bad. If it is freely spinning, check your start capacitor

You may have been running it on the wrong voltage for 3 years especiallyif you feeding it 120 volts to a 220 setup. Assuming it is getting the right voltage and it clicks off and on you run winding is bad so the start winding cliicks on to bring it up to run speed opens the switch but the run winding isnt there so it repeats the process forever till it fails.
