When we move the scale and the 0's are supposed to appear and disappear before you can actually step on the scale, we get a false number and then a symbol that looks like a beginning open bracket.

When it is acting different from what you used to see, you could try replacing the battery.

My Salter Electronic scales will not pass EeeE even after replacing with new battery. What do I do next please?

Probably the sensor is damaged and time to replace the scales unless it is still under the manufacturers warranty, in which case, return it for service.

My Salter digital bathroom scale is stuck on kilograms. I`ve changed the battery and used cleaner on the sliding selector but it will only show stones or Kg.

See if you can find the manual for your model. It sounds like you have a British model and not one that has US units. http://www.manualsdir.com/brands/salter/41.html
