Take out the battery for a while and replace it should rest to factory setting.

It is better to check first the terminals to where the battery is inserted. Corrosion build up in the terminals may lead to improper contact with the battery.

You can remove the corrosion by dipping a cotton swab in a lemon juice or vinegar and rubbing it to affected area. The acid will help dissolve it. You can also try rubbing it with any metal to expose its contact surface.

I just had a play with mine as I wanted to change the weight mode too.
The solution is this:
While the machine is OFF, press and hold the button for about 5-10 seconds.
The display will go from 8888 to show the weight measurement (lb oz) at the top of the display.
Press the button to select the weight you want.
You should be able to continue with your baking :o)

How to calibrate when "out2" is shown.
With the power off andthe scale on a stable surface, hold "g" and press "on". Some number will show up, probably a negative number. Press the "on" button again and the scale should display "Zero". Wait until it says "200.0". Gently place a 200 gram weight on the scale and wait a few seconds. If your successful it will say "Pass" and your scale will work again, yay!

Once you gently slide it out, you'll see the two batteries. Make sure the positive side is facing up when you put them back in.

Just firmly push in on the tab that's on the side with the smaller opening.

What you'll be doing is pushing it through, kind of like a little "tray" for the batteries.

You'll see it'll slide out and expose the batteries so you can replace them.

By the way, it takes two size 2032 lithium 3v batteries.

Change the batteries and make sure there is no acid residue on the ends of the scale.

The 1 part just slides off.
