Bosch SHU9925UC Dishwasher Stuck in Initial Drain Cycle

OK Bosch Dw fans.........here is the fix if your SHX dishwasher is stuck on the drain cycle. This may save you a couple hundred bucks.......so listen up. There is a tendency for the very small float switch to STICK in the ON position, which will cause the drain motor to continuously run......and DISallow any other function to work. DISCONNECT POWER. Did I mention to disconnect power? Take off the front base cover....2 torx screws. Remove the other 2 torx screws in the metal clips that fasten the top of the DW to the underside of your countertop. NOW...carefull slide your DW out. You may have to disconnect your water and elec supply if you do not have enough slack to pull it out. Once the DW is out of the cabinet, remove the shiny metal cover on the LEFT side by removing a single torx screw. You will now see a small plastic assembly with a red plastic piece that moves up and down as it rides on a small red styrofoam float. This up and down movement engages a small white plastic switch visible with 3 wires coming out of it. You can carefully UNSNAP this switch out of its mount, and pull the 3 wire plug off of it. THere is a small square blue plastic tab that is supposed to easily slide in and out of the switch. If it is stuck IN, you can sometimes tap the switch and the blue tab will pop out, which is what it is supposed to do without tapping it. You can carefully with a knife blade separate the case on this switch and note the way it comes apart. Clean out any micro debris out of the small channels that the blue tab ride up and down in. Then set it in the channel while holding up the small switch tab that rides on it and see if it slides up and down without sticking! I like to take a piece of wax paper and rub in on the channel and blue tap to provide some lube for the switch to slide easily on. Now, put the switch back on and manually move the red plastic assembly up and down while you are watching the blue tab. The tab should ride up and down with the red assy. If not, buy a new switch. Google the # on the switch and order one. If the tab slides up and down, put things together in reverse order and give it a try. Hope it works for you. This should take you an hour give or take. Take the $200 you just saved and have a night out on me. ........so even though these German Appliances have a good name because of past reliability, the american tendency to value engineer them with plastic parts to reduce costs and increase profit.........just cost you an hour of your time. Will we ever learn.? ......if it ain't broke, value engineer it until it only lasts through the warranty period so you can then collect service and parts blood money from your fellow american.

Clogged Bosch SHU 9920 dishwasher

-Sounds like the pump is not working properly or the drain line you connect to sink directly instead to the breath cap before to the sink. Or the breath cap locate too low. -Make sure the breath cap is mount higher than the line to the sink. (Or as high as possible) This is to prevent any water from the sink pour into the dishwasher. Good luck Mai

I have a Bosch dishwasher,

green wires are usually earth wire where is the wire going to? also the water valve is not really the problem, if its not turning on water but doing the rest, it will be the relay on the main pcb board these can fail, they run on a 12v supply and send power to the valve to open 12v opens the switch so the mains voltage can turn on the valve at the right times. the switches are common to fail as they can arc over time and lock closed so cannot connect again. if you know how to solder you can remove the old one and replace with a new one you can buy these relays on ebay or other electronic stores there are many types on the one you have is a part number buy the same part. to locate the right relay as there are meany use a meter and connect one end to the positive wire on the vale and the other end to a random relay on the pcb checking them all till you get a reading or beep depending on what settings you use, then change that one for new one.

Bosch SMS 4012. Water very slow to enter machine

The solenoid valves do gum up. Replace that and it should work fine. They are not very expensive. You could try to clean it, but it is easier to just replace it.

My bosch dishwasher is not

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description, " my bosch dishwasher is not filling up with water. Where is the inlet filter? "... and to answer your question, the issue is likely with the inlet/water valve.

**To remedy this you will need to replace the valve, not surprising for Bosch unfortunately**

This is what to look for..i.e.

e601791.jpg

As long as your model number is indeed SHU8805 series, this info below will be accurate.

Original part is # 425458. It usually retails for about $20 - $30USD at places such as "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclinic.com" to name a couple.

**Before attempting to repair the unit please turn off the power and the water supply to the dishwasher...safety first**

If you remove the lower kick plate/toe panel, you will see the inlet valve to your left...

i.e.

Replacing it or to check for debris in the filter/screen at the inlet is pretty straight forward. Here`s how...

1) undo the water line. ( here you can visually inspect the screen in the valve...if nothing noted, you'll likely need to replace it as follows )

2) Remove the two #20 torx screws fastening it in place.

3) the feed tube to the machine at the back of the valve and swap it with the new one.

Once the new one is in you should be good to go.

Let me know if you need any further assistance, otherwise good luck.

Thanks for visiting FixYa.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Water wants to drain and keeps trying

Sounds like anti flood system has triggered (polystireen float and micro switch) that puts the washer in pump out mode only and shuts the inlet water off. You need to look at the bottom of the washer and check that water leak / spill is not causing the float to activate. Clear the water and fix leak (pipe or pipe clamp) and this should fix the problem.

Bosch SHU 8805 upper arm is getting no water.

replace the upper water arm conduit and wash arm hub as they leak under years of pressure and the o-rings leak water and then it can't hold pressure and supply the upper arm with full pressure water, also replace the center arm conduit if it has one as this will wear out too

Wont drain

hello. i can help. unfortunately there are several possible causes for not draining. I will list and explain each one to help you isolate the problem.

If the water doesn't drain from your dishwasher, check these:

Drain line/air gap
Pump
Drain valve and/or solenoid
Belt
Motor
Timer
Drain line/air gap A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.

Pump Your dishwasher pump ejects the water. The pump is usually mounted directly to the motor, then attached to the bottom of the dishwasher. You can reach the pump from inside the dishwasher, but first you need to remove the lower rack, the spray arm, and the spray arm support.

Look for an impeller--a round plastic fan blade-type of device that spins around. This is the wash impeller, which forces the water through the spray arm. Beneath the wash impeller is the drain impeller, which is similar in size and shape to the wash impeller. The drain impeller pushes the water toward the drain port. These components make up the pump. If any of the pump components are defective, you need to replace them.

Drain valve and/or solenoid Many dishwashers use a drain valve with an electric solenoid. When electricity flows to the solenoid, the valve opens and diverts the water to the drain. Sometimes the solenoid, or the diverting lever, sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining or filling properly. Try to free up the solenoid to lubricate the lever. Otherwise, you may have to replace the solenoid or pump assembly. With these systems, the motor always rotates in one direction. When it's energized, the drain valve diverts the water.

Other dishwashers simply reverse the direction of the motor to drain the dishwasher. These units don't have a drain valve. Instead, there's a drain hose connected directly to the pump housing.

Belt One brand of dishwasher uses a belt to drive the pump. If this belt is broken or has fallen off, replace it.

Motor If the motor isn't turning or working, the unit won't drain. First check to be sure you have power to the dishwasher. If not, see the section "It doesn't work at all." If the motor hums but doesn't turn, it may need to be replaced.

Some dishwashers are susceptible to getting stuck if you don't run them regularly. If you haven't run the dishwasher for more than a week, you may need to manually spin the motor to free it up. If the motor is defective, you need to replace it. Dishwasher motors can't be serviced.

Timer Part of what the timer does is control the motor and drain valve. If the timer doesn't work properly, the water may not drain and you need to replace the timer. This problem is uncommon.

Bosch shu9905

Check the drain pump. First, manually initiate drain by pressing the second and fourth buttons on the keypad at the same time. If it pumps out, disregard the rest. If it doesn't at least hum, check for power at the motor.
Remove lower rack, lower spray arm, and screens in bottom, remove all water inside. Check for debris under pump cover in bottom of sump. The drain pump suction is through the hole on the left.
Behind the toe panel on the left is the drain motor, If no debris was found inside, the drain pump may have failed. Remove outer door panel (you may need to remove the two screws on the sides of the control panel.) Remove the metal panel across the top of the motor area , disconnect hose in front of pump, disconnect wires to pump, press tab at top of pump and rotate clockwise to remove pump. The impeller could be loose on the motor shaft, or the motor windings failed.

Dishwasher de-installing

You may be able to push it back in and place a piece of quarter round molding down at the floor with nails to prevent it from coming out again.

There should be some kind of clips if you look under the front edge of your counter. The clip or clips should have holes for screws that will screw into the underside front edge of the couner top.

Bosh dish waher

Does it make the same noise when it's just filling or just when the motor starts? Usually just filling the dishwasher opens a valve and doesn't run the pump. If it makes noise during filling the valve may be getting hot and shorting, or may have a loose connection, or air may be in the water supply line causing the valve to bounce. If it takes a long time to fill the filter may be clogged.
