Hello & Welcome to FixYa

The hum indicates a problem with the motor if it is coming from the bottom, if it is coming from the water inlet valve then that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Door won't stay engaged and DW stops mid

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description I understand you have a Bosch built dishwashers in which the door will not stay latched, correct ? Please varify it is indeed a model SHU43 series when replying. ( these include various models including Bosch, Thermador, Siemens, Gaggenau, and Neff )

I want to clarify the issue since there can be many possible scenarios stopping the machine in mid cycle, though you'e stated you machine door comes "unlatched", correct ?

It could be an issue of being un-level, though I'd doubt it would manifest in such a manner...usually it will leak if not level and cause the overfill float to activate. Have the door hinges been bent in any way...someone falling on the dorr etc. ?

Something else I can offer if you provide an email address when replying is sending you the service manual in a "pdf" attachment.

If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau/Siemens, to service your machine.

Thank`s for visiting "FixYa" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution to it's helpfulness. Good luck.

Regards,

Lots of Dishwasher Issues- I have a Bosch

Do you have hard water? Many states have passed laws that outlawed phosphate as an ingredient in dishwasher detergent. If you have hard water, the detergents don't work very well anymore. The residue is probably hard water deposits (calcium and magnesium). Not harmful but it looks awful on your dishes. There are some new products that were designed to solve this exact problem. They are inexpensive and effective. Can't say the name or I'll get banned (again). Internet search will uncover it.

Leaving grit on dishes that are mainly on top row

The upper spray arm is powered by water from a tube that runs up the back of your machine on the inside. If the connection is not aligned, then the water can't get to the spray arm. My children use to knock mine out of kilter when they loaded the lower section. It's easy to see if the supports are not attached to the upper rack and a simple snap will get them back in place.
You may have clogged jets in the upper spray arm.It will need to be removed so that you can soak it in hot soapy water and then flush it with hot water. You may also need to take a toothpick or tweezer to remove any debris that clogs the jets.
Finally, check the bottom of your door on the inside of the dishwasher. It's amazing the "gunk" that can collect there. This gunk can be redistributed to your dishes. I put some soapy water in a cup and use an old toothbrush to clean this area. Then I rinse twice with hot water. Finally run the dishwasher with 1/2 cup of white vinegar while empty.
This should take care of your gritty dishes. I hope so. If it does, please come back to Fixya and rate my advice!

I have a Bosch tall tub dishwasher. Model SHU43,

Hi

Check the heating element. Dishwashers are made to work with 130 - 140 degree water. If much lower, the detergent you are using will not dissolve, and this is what is all over the inside of the unit and your dishes.

If the dishes are not clean enough at the end of the drying cycle, the problem can likely be traced to obstructed spray arms or clogged spray arm nozzles. Also make sure that the spray nozzles located directly underneath the lower dish rack are not obstructed by handles, silverware or other objects. Over time, the spray arm nozzles can become clogged with sediment deposits, which inhibit the water from exiting the nozzles and cleaning the dishes. For this reason, the spray arm nozzles should be periodically cleaned. To clean the spray arm nozzles, first access the spray arms by pulling the lower dish rack out of the dishwasher. Twist the upper spray arm in a counterclockwise direction to remove it, then lift the lower spray arm out of the dishwasher. The spray arm nozzles may be cleaned with any detergent/appliance cleaner suitable for dishwashers. Ensure that the dishes are not placed tightly against each other.

We have Bosch 8055.put dishwashing

There is a flood sensor in the bottom of the unit that is probably coated with foam. Get a pitcher of water and just pour it in the dishwasher on EVERYTHING in the bottom of the unit including on the sensors. You may have to do this 5 or 6 times to get it to snap out of it. Cancel / drain.... to get rid of the water you added. I recommend you concentrate on rinsing 1/4 of the bottom of the unit with the pitchers of water. No more than 2 pitchers per manual rinse.
It should snap out of it unless the foam made it all the way into the control panel.

I have a Bosch SHU

Hi
The issue seems to be with the float switch assembly that is bad and should be replaced. Float assembly is found inside the dishwasher's tub, on the bottom. The water that fills your dishwasher lifts the float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher. A defective switch may interfere with your dishwasher's filling and/or draining ability.Use your voltmeter to test the switch. Set the device to the ohms setting x 1. Take each probe and touch them to one switch terminal each. This should produce a reading of either zero or infinity. Continue to touch the probes to the terminals, and press down on the switch's button. The reading should change to the opposite extreme. If your switch fails either of these tests, you should replace it. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

You glue on a wood strip, to the underside of the counter, then screw into that. Use construction adhesive. The wood strip needs to stick down no further than the counter edge treatment, so you normally cannot see this wood strip.

My Bosch dishwasher SHU43C02UC/38 runs the quick

Hi,

The issue with your Bosch dishwasher likely lye`s within`the electronic timer/control, specifically the heater relay solder joint. ( a faulty flow switch, ntc or heater can also cause this, but not very probable ). This is the purpose of the "1" indicated in the display, a heating problem.

I`d first suggest calling in an authorized bosch servicer, however If you feel capable there`s a way to visually inspect the control. It will require you to remove the control from the unit and then remove the control from it`s plastic housing and look for a burnt solder contact on the printed circuit board. This will be one of the pins from the heater relay, hence the unit sit`s at "1" ( because it can`t heat to advance or until canceled ) trying to heat the water.

**Further to this, if you or someone you know is proficient at soldering, a lot of times it can be remedied by simply repairing the solder...although Bosch recommend`s replacing the control and I don`t pretend to speak on there behalf nor do I profess to know better. This is just my experience (it work`s) and my opinion (why buy new if one can repair ?)**

**Please disconnect the power before attempting any service to the dishwasher. If you do not feel comfortable attempting this service, call a local pro, preferably one familiar with Bosch/Thermador/Gaggenau, to service your machine.**

Hope this answer`s your question, let me know if I can assist you further. Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair inquiries. Please take a moment and rate this solution and leave a testimony.

Good luck.

Will not fill with water.

Hello, Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description, "will not fill with water"...the issue is likely with the inlet/water valve, yes.

**To remedy this you will need to check and possibly replace the valve**

This is what to look for..i.e.

e601791.jpg

As long as your model number is indeed correct, this info below will be accurate.

Original part is # 425458. It usually retails for about $20 - $30USD at places such as "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclinic.com" to name a couple.

**Before attempting to repair the unit please turn off the power and the water supply to the dishwasher...safety first**

If you remove the lower kick plate/toe panel, you will see the inlet valve to your left...

i.e.

Replacing it or to check for debris in the filter/screen at the inlet is pretty straight forward. Here`s how...

1) undo the water line. ( here you can visually inspect the screen in the valve...if nothing noted, you'll likely need to replace it as follows )

2) Remove the two #20 torx screws fastening it in place.

3) the feed tube to the machine at the back of the valve and swap it with the new one.

Once the new one is in you should be good to go. Let me know if you need any further assistance, otherwise good luck.
