Braun M880 MultiMix Hand Mixer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
What is wrong with my Braun Multimix 280w?
I'm afraid the gears inside are worn off. But perhaps it is worth to open the mixer, to see if perhaps only a screw came lose, so the slip comes from there. If you are not technical don't try this yourself.

Braun Vario 280 Watt type
HI.This steps might be as well helpful.let me just clarify that you can't even manually twist the shafting. If the motor is working an yet it will not turn the shaft.Tha shafting bossing might as well been broken misallign inside..Better remove the cover by unscrewing it and then try to observe how the motor works. If it really does turn when ever it is plugg on to the source.Observe also misallign bosssing that connects the shafting and the motor's rotor.Thank you for choosing FIXYA.

Once the blender is attached, how do you start the
You start it by pushing the switch lever forward, and you need to hold it there for as long as you want it to run. This is a momentary mode and is the only way to run the immersion blender.

Most likely, you will have to replave the triac on the switch circuit board. If you are able to use a soldering iron and can order a replacement triac from an electronics outlet, se the description on this problem

1st and 2nd gear doesn't work. Can it be fixed
Yes it can most likely be fixed. Please see the solution for this problem that has already been covered here http://www.fixya.com/support/t3875766-braun_multimix_280_will_only_operate
You will need a soldering iron and some basic electronics skills to do this repair.

I seem to have lost the instruction manual for my
Hi
The blender does not attach to any of the two holes for the whisks.
You need to push back the sliding cover in the center, bottom part between and behind where the whiskers attach. This will uncover a third attachment possibility, where you insert the blender and twist it a quarter turn into place.

Bottom Slide Cover (Part 2a in the manual)
See the description for the speed problem and repositioning of the slidere at
this link. The slider should snap back in place easily if everything is ok. The slider also operates a switch inside the mixer. This switch is intended to only allow you to run on full power when using the hand blender. You may need to open up the mixer to check this switch is not stuck in the activated position permanently. Otherwise consider the description of the speed problem in the link.

1. remove the base palte by lifting the end opposite to the electric cord.
2. Loosen the bottom power outled slider, without removing it fully
3. unclip the curved plastic retainer in the front and unscrew philips head screw.
4. Work around the edges of the two halves until it comes apart and you are able to free the slider from its return spring.
And see pictures
