Kirby's are repairable. Find a dealer or a repair shop near you to get it fixed.

This style of vacuum has great airflow but does not have great suction, especially at the end of the hose but it still should have enough to pick up most soils. It may have a restriction in the suction tube or emptor. The disposable bag may be full or clogged, the outer bag could also be clogged.

First, go to a vacuum store ("sewing and vacuum" shop in some places) and purchase the correct belt. You unlock the rug plate by unhooking two latches on the rear of the nozzle. The rug plate is the steel item which rubs on the carpet and locks the brush roll in place. Just look on the bottom and you will see two steel levers which you need to move. You then lift out the brush roll: pay attention while you do this to see how it comes out, as that knowledge will help when it is time to put it back in. You then place the new belt over the brush roll and then replace the brush roll. On my Gsix, one of the plastic brush roll ends is larger than the other. The roll will only fit in one way, so flip it around if you can't get it to smoothly slide in place. Maybe it is the same on your G4.

first take cloth bag off, held on at bottom with bag clamp, then wash cloth bag in washing machine at 40, inner hose is held on by 2 cable ties top and bottom, your new hose should come with 2 new cable ties, ask kirby agent when ordering, them simply refit.

take it back to service agent as maybe they forgot to reassemble and make them fix it as you've paid for a service.If you try to reconnect could fry whole thing or shock yourself.

If the wheels came with the vacuum, there should be instructions.

There could be a few reasons. Try a different power outlet and check the cord and belt. Next there are two safety switches on the Kirby that need to be engaged for the vacuum to start. One is on the mini-emptor to make sure an outer bag is engaged, the second is on the front nozzle to make sure the nozzle or hose is attached. You can see pictures here. If the light is not glowing it means the brush roll is not spinning. The belt may be stretched and need replaced. The brush roll may be installed improperly. The magnet in the brush roll has to be aligned with the indicator light for the light to work when. The brush roll is spinning

To replace a mini-emptor it should come of with a twisting motion. You may have to snap it if it is broken, and be aware in the exhaust port a piece may be left behind that you will have to remove to get the new mini-emptor to attach. There are 3 rivets that this part holds onto and when it is removed you should see the rubber and the 3 rivets. You can see pictures here: Kirby G4 miniemptor instructions. If by "lever" you mean the step on rocker pedal at the rear of the unit, then we're talking about the same thing. If not, then I have no idea what lever would move to "D" or "I". When the pedal is depressed on one side it puts the drive mechanism into gear, when it's depressed the other side it moves the drive mechanism out of gear. It's about that simple, unless the pedal is broken inside the drive box, then nothing happens either way, usually. The only way to tell if it's really broken is to try it in both directions, if there's no drive in either side then there's a problem in the box. You'll need to take it to a qualified repair shop, not everyone can repair these drive boxes.
