Briggs & Stratton 020272 Elite Series Portable Gas Pressure Washer Questions & Answers
My power washe runs ok,
The unloader valve is either stuck open or is defective. The most common problem is the valve gets gunk in it and it gets stuck open not allowing the pressure to build. If you have an owners manual look at the parts section and you will see where the unloader valve is located. If you don't have book go to jackssmallenginerepair.com and go to parts look up and type in your model #. Also check hose to gun and nozzle for obstruction.

It runs good, but it doesn't produce any water
On the pump there is a valve called a unloader valve, this valve is designed to open and bypass the water when you release the trigger so you don't damage the pump. Sounds like the valve is either stuck or defective. Remove this valve and clean the valve and the port that it sits in. This should clear up the problem. The valve is usually located next to the hose port for the gun. If you can't find it go to jackssmallengine repair.com and look up a parts breakdown. You should use a light coating of lithium grease on valve and port. Also, check the nozzle and hose for ubstructions and make sure the strainer in inlet for supply hose is not clogged and you have proper water flow with no leaks. Hope this helps.

Cannot get my my mower started.
Try a different fuel type i.e. carb cleaner or starting fluid. Remove air filter, set throttle mid range, spray a 1 second burst into carb throat, leave air filter off, promptly start (minimum 3 pulls).
If it fires, runs a few seconds and dies then the problem is no fuel delivered from carburetor. If no fire then it may be flooded. Remove spark plug. If plug is wet then likely flooded. If plug is dry then spark, timing, or compression.
Comment for further assistance.
