The fuel is not going through as it is supposed to. Clean all fuel lines . Make sure you check the fuel filter at the tank that it is not clogged.
blow into the hose to make sure it is open . Do the same with the filter.
If you find any leaks , replace the hose. To check for leaks . Pinch the hose on one side and blow through it.
Before you make any adjustment be sure the float needle is not stuck closed in the seat. Also shake the float to be sure there is not fuel inside the float.
The next time this happens loosen the fuel cap. If it will now start the vent to the fuel tank is blocked. I don't know that saw enough to tell you where to look for the vent. Some saws have a small hole in the fuel cap that can plug up with saw dust.
need more info. It sounds like it does run or you would have stated it stopped working and will not work anymore. I need more info please. When it stops is it because you gave it the throttle and it quit or does it just up and die as if it ran out of gas in which case it will sputter first or does it run then instantly start to stop then instantly run again. What I can do at this point is give you somewhere to start. Number one the on off switch can be faulty and will cause it to start to instantly die and then immediately run again and also maybe go dit-dit-dit-dit while running like it was skipping or sputtering. How old is this saw? Inside the fuel tank is a filter. If you take a flashlight you will see it. reach in with something and pull it out with the hose. be careful not to damage the hose. Remove and replace the filter. If it runs good til it gets hot and if you loosen the gas cap it takes off running again, replace the gas cap as the vent hole is plugged. So if can reply back with more info.
You may have a bent bar, or you could be putting the chain on a little too loose. Perhaps the chain is not getting lube ? Possible that the chain tentssioner and or adjustment is loosening up as you are using the unit. Other than that maybe a defective new blade ?
You need a special tool to adjust the mixture screws, i have to say they are not easy to tune, you will also need a rev counter to set the high revs, it is very difficult to give basic settings for the carb as they vary greatly
Jeff:Loosen the two nuts on the right side cover of the saw (1/2 inch socket) turn them out 2 turns. Use a flat blade screwdriver on the screw at the right side front of the housing (near where the bar comes out of the saw). Turn the screw right until the chain can only be pulled up 1/8 of an inch at the top center of the bar. tighten the two 1/2 inch nuts. The two nuts clamp the bar so it won't move. If the chain tensioner still won't work, remove the right side housing by removing the two 1/2 inch nuts and look at the tensioner assembly and how it fits into the chain bar. The problem will be obvious. If you need to replace the tensioner assembly, a new one can be ordered through http://www.husqvarna.com.
Unless you are skilled enough to make your own, you are stuck taking the saw to a servicing dealer as they are the only ones allowed to possess the necessary 'D' head screwdriver. Give thanks to the EPA for mandating the prevention of mal-adjustment pollution.
Ok, start by removing the side cover/chainbrake,the guide bar and chain, there should be just two 13mm nuts holding the side cover on, if you have tooless adjustment there will be a single flip up lever to remove the securing nut, you now need to remove the clutch, there are two slots cut into either side of the clutch centre, these slots are designed to take a screw driver ( preferably the combi tool that came with the saw ) you can then jar the clutch off against compression by striking the end of the screw driver with a suitable hammer, the clutch is just threaded onto the crank, left hand thread, so comes off clockwise, once removed you can pull the clutch drum and bearing off, remove the single 4mm allen screw from the silver bar protection plate and remove the plate, you will now see the oil pump, held with one allen headed screw, the delivery hose will just lift off, the pick up hose and filter will come out of the oil tank once the pump is removed.
the easiest way i have found to put the cover back on is to take the clutch drum off.now youn can put the cover on.reset the brake and reinstall the clutch drum.the brake loop gets in the way any other way.hope this helped,if not let me know and we can try something different.......
Do you have good compression. If its flooding then its probably a carb issue. Strip and clean carb, check diaphrams and reset hi and low screws to standard settings. Screw both needles in and unscrew them:- H 3/4 of a turn anticlockwise and L 1 full turn anti clockwise. Here's the breakdown for the carb. (dont use airlines to clean carbs)
