Power light flashes but PC will not boot up following power outage

First off: Protection is important and the ONLY way to go is with a UPS (Battery backup protector). These devices allow the computer to SLOWLEY close down and protect the motherboard and hard drives. Simple bar protectors are of little to no use whatsoever. As for the Start UP; the Boot Sector on the Hard Drive has been compromised. If you attempted to start with the F8 key when you started up the computer and failed to Boot in the Safe Mode, you definitely lost the operating system. You can try to do a Restore, but that may not be effective. When a Computer starts, there is usually a Beep (called a Post) and one Beep indicates the motherboard is active. Several beeps indicate a mal-function of the motherboard and it was damaged. In some cases, the Memory (RAM) can be damaged from electrical surge, and thus the computer will not start and the monitor will not be active. Do not touch the internal leads as they are not the problem. In closing, a CPU is very sensitive to power surge and the CPU in some cases can be defective. All in all, with so may options or repair issues; only a professional has the equipment to search for the solution. Good luck: [email protected]

You can try pressing the F12 key and see if it gives you the option to boot from the recovery partition. If you are unable to boot from recovery partition or if there is no recovery partition, you will need to purchase recovery CD's. Good luck. I hope this helps. Have a good day.

How do i update my

updating BIOS is last resort.
Desktops hardly get BIOS update.
Try figuring out the solution to your problem at OS level. Probably you need better drivers...

How do I insert a DVD in to my Evesham novatech computer, serial no. WO00966604?

CD s and DVD s have a tray that slides out of the computer. When you get the tray open place the disk (writing if any usually on the top) in the tray, and gently press it down so that it is held by the deice in the middle. Either the tray will withdraw itself into the machine after about 10s or gently pushing it towards the machine from the front will cause the tray to enter the machine. Press the windows button and with your mouse click on My Computer click on the CD or DVD item and the file might open ... To open the CD/DVD tray or drawer either press gently on the front or press the little button on the front, or else go to My Computer (above) righ click on either the CD r DVD icon and then left click on open or eject on the drop down menu that should appear 19.December.2014

Need help finding part for Evesham desktop that want connect to my tv. i have found my motherboard model which is foxconn-945g7ma, however when i search for it on the internet i find two types Foxconn

You would only be able to connect that to your TV if your TV has a VGA connector, (also called D-Sub.) There is NO HDMI or DVI connector on any 'flavor' of that model Motherboard.

My Evesham want connect with my TV

Most modern desktops have more than one video port and not all are active all the time. Try using the other ports. If that doesn't work you might have a bad video controller. You can buy a replacement video adapter which will plug into one of your PCI or AGP ports. Make sure you know without a doubt what ports your have free before buying a card there are a lot of different ports. The manual is your best bet for knowing for certain what types of ports you have.

I have had an Evesham PC desktop computer since

You might need to upgrade a few hardware items first also you might upgrade to vista then windows 8 Creating a new partition on your hard drive gives your future version of Windows 8 a place to live on your drive. Knowing exactly how much space the OS requires helps you determine how large to make your partition. Size requirements don't tell the entire story on their own, though. Other factors like drive type and additional storage help ensure you get the best Windows 8 experience where your hard drive is concerned. Size Requirements Both Windows 7 and Windows 8 have the same system requirement regarding hard drive space, so if your hard drive can handle Windows 7, Windows 8 shouldn't be a problem. For 32-bit versions of the operating system, you'll need at least 16 GB of available disk space. The 64-bit version requires 20 GB. Your partition will have to be at least one of these sizes, depending on your OS version. The PC Advisor website warns that these are literally the bare minimum requirements, and using these figures leaves you hardly any space to save files and install apps or programs. Size Recommendations You'll get more out of Windows 8 if the operating system has enough free space for you to install your favorite programs and apps. PC World calls this extra space "breathing room," suggesting you give your Windows 8 partition at least 30 to 40 GB. If you're dual-booting with another operating system or you're accustomed to keeping excess data on a separate partition, 30 to 40 gigabytes should be fine. If you'd rather have all your songs, videos and PC games on the same partition as the operating system, consider giving it substantially more space. Solid State Drive Windows 8 works on traditional hard drives with spinning disks, but it's optimized to run on a solid state drive. If you've got an SSD, consider putting your Windows 8 partition on that drive. While any operating system benefits from the speed increase an SSD brings, ARS Technica specifically recommends this drive type for Windows 8, saying the operating system's "tablet-esque feel and search-heavy usage model will be much better served by solid-state storage." Other Requirements Hard drive space is a crucial system requirement, but others are just as important. Ensuring your computer meets the other requirements before partitioning your drive for Windows 8 saves trouble in case your computer can't handle the OS. You'll need at least a 1 GHz processor that support PAE, SSE2 and NX. Your computer has to have at least 1 GB of RAM for 32-bit Windows 8, or 2 GB for 64-bit. Your graphics card must be at least a DirectX 9-capable card with a WDDM driver. Also, while you're formatting your drive, format the Windows 8 partition in the NTFS format. Storage Spaces Storage Spaces is a useful Windows 8 feature when you're working with multiple drives and partitions. The tool enables you to group drives into one larger storage space so you don't have to constantly switch partitions and explore different drives. For example, if you create a storage space between two 32 GB flash drives, you'd be able to access it as if it were one larger 64 GB drive. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/system-requirements Microsoft windows 8 system requirements http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/features/windows/3358892/windows-8-system-requirements/ PC World windows 8 system requirements http://www.pcworld.com/article/2012847/how-to-master-storage-spaces-in-windows-8.html PC World how to master storage space windows 8 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/download-shop

My computer is telling that my version of windows is not genuine it came with the computer and has never been altered it is a evesham computer i have the licence number on the computer the only thing

Unfortunately, Microsoft locks OEM copies of the Windows OS to a specific motherboard and CPU. Replacing the motherboard will cause this problem. If you had only added more memory, this wouldn't be an issue. If you put in the new motherboard because the old one failed, you might be able to get Microsoft to reauthorize the license or give you a new one. As far as I know, you will have to call MS support and see what happens. (If you had the Full install version of Windows, you could move it to another machine/motherboard without the issue when the other computer isn't available.) If MS doesn't authorize the code, you will probably need to buy a new license of your version of Windows. (Windows 7 Home Premium OEM is $99; the full version would be $189. Other versions of Windows will be more expensive.) One option is to find a member of a Windows User's Group or Technet subscriber who has licenses and install discs for various versions of the Windows OS. They may be willing to give you one of their extra licenses. This is very useful if your computer has an older version of Windows OS and you do not want to change OS versions. (Not all older computers can support a newer OS due to driver issues.) I wish that I had better news for you. Cindy Wells

Restore to factory settings

If you received a CD/DVD with your computer that says "Operating System Disc" or something similar, you can put that in the drive and run the reinstall sequence. If you did not get a disc like that with your computer or you lost it, you can probably call the manufacturer. Otherwise you can get a new version of Windows from wherever you would like and install it. The installation process typically clears everything out.
