Maybe "Bulova" have "Energy save mode" like my "Casio ProTrek"? Both models are quartz movement. When I don't wearing my watch he go sleep after 1 day and wake up when I pick up.
If there is a dead battery in the watch, when it is opened, that is one way to identify the battery size.
A second way, if no battery left in it, is to go to a local jeweler or watch battery replacement kiosk at the shopping mall.
Third, contact Bulova at phone number shown:

FIXYA unpaid volunteers seriously would not be able to appraise them through the internet. It will result in many more unanswered questions with little detail to assist anyone. In my case, I have an old watch from my grandfather - can you tell me if it is worth anything and how much? (How can that question be answered without being rude?)
You can use http://www.google.com to search for more information, and perhaps check for an appraiser.
Another approach is to search http://www.ebay.com and see if the model name you enter appears for sale anywhere.
Are you talking about the crown or the dial at any rate for the crown try Red rooster on the internet and the face there are many companies that will refinish the dial/face for a mere 30 or 40 USD
