Dewalt sells a rebuild kit for the regulator (my be part # N008792). You could try lubing the internal parts before ordering the kit. With no air in the tank, remove the plastic knob assembly and pull out the small piston. In the center of the valve body will be a small brass plunger. You should be able to push this plunger in with thumb pressure. If stuck, remove the nut on the back of the valve and lube the plunger with grease (pull the plunger off the back-nut if stuck in place). Lube the piston and cylinder (black plastic piece) with grease and reinstall. The small piston has a lip seal that should point toward the body of the manafold. For emergency air, remove the safety pop-valve and install a tee fitting. On this tee fitting reinstall the safety valve on one port and a quick disconnect on the other. You can draw air out of the tank at full pressure untill you repair the regulator. Good luck

Try examining the pressure switch first. If it's cycling on/off abnormally, it's probably the pressure switch.

Hello. Using compressed air for cleaning raises a couple of issues. I can only assume you know not to point at people, and not to blow the debris toward any one. Will it clean dirt off a windowsill? - Depending on the dirt, yes. if it is loose grit/dust or sawdust - no problem. It might not take off baked on materials and will only appear to remove black mould (that stuff will remain in the form of roots and spores in the wood/paint).

As to cleaning the car engine, it will assist, but be advised: it can/may drive particles into areas that may not be desireable. I have seen compressors used to blow off parts after they have been cleaned properly... but again, safety first.

The bottom line is it will do a fair majority, but it is not an industrial model with a huge tank. This means depending on the air flow volume and furation, the pressure may fall below what may be considered "efficient".

The right guage is the actual tank pressure. The left guage is the pressure for the air hose. If you turn the adjustment dial the air pressure guage on the left will go up or down. You should be able to go to the dewalt website and find an owners manual for this compressor. I personally own this compressor and it is a good one.

IF THE VOLTAGE IS 110 VOLTS UP TO 125 VOLTS,THE NEXT STEP IS LOCATE AND CHECK THE CAPACITORS,THERE SHOULD BE 2,ONE IS START,THE OTHER IS RUN.REMOVE THEM ONE AT THE TIME TAKING CARE TO MARK WHAT WIRE GO TO WHAT TERMINAL.WITH A DIGITAL TEST METER ON CONTINUITY,PUT ONE LEAD TO EACH TERMINAL ON THE CAPACITOR,THE READING SHOULD START COUNTING UP OR DOWN,IT DOES NOT MATTER WHICH WAY AS LONG AS IT KEEPS COUNTING,AFTER 30 SECONDS REVERSE THE LEADS TO THE OPPOSITE TERMINALS.THE READING SHOULD COUNT THE OPPOSITE WAY FROM THE FIRST READING,WATCH FOR 30 SECONDS.
IF YOU GET READINGS BOTH WAYS,THE CAPACITOR IS GOOD.INSTALL IT BACK ON THE MACHINE.
IF YOU GET NO READING OR JUST ONE WAY,THE CAPACITOR IS BAD AND MUST BE REPLACED.
REPEAT THE PROCESS ON THE OTHER CAPACITOR,REPLACE IF NEEDED.
THESE STEPS SHOULD SHOULD GET YOU UP AND RUNNING,BUT I HOPE IT IS JUST A SIMPLE LOW VOLTAGE PROBLEM.
LOW VOLTAGE PROBLEMS ARE CAUSED BY VERY LONG EXTENSION CORDS,OR WEAK BREAKERS.

TO CHECK BREAKERS,REMOVE THE PANEL COVER OF THE POWER SOURCE FEEDING THE OUTLET YOU ARE PLUGED INTO.
WITH A DIGITAL METER,PUT THE BLACK LEAD TO GROUND,AND WITH ALL BREAKERS ON, TAKE THE RED LEAD AND GO TO THE SCREW HOLDING THE WIRE IN EACH 15 OR 20 AMP BREAKER TO VERIFY 110 MINIMUM VOLTS AT EACH BREAKER.
IF YOU FIND ONE BREAKER WITH LESS THAN 110 VOLTS,REPLACE IT.
IF YOU FIND EVERY OTHER BREAKER WITH LESS THAN 110 VOLTS GOING DOWN EACH SIDE,YOU HAVE MAIN POWER ISSUES AND SHOULD CALL A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.

there the pressure regulator between the 2 guages needs turned up. it may be a locking type if so pull out or push it in and turn it, if that doesnot work the regulator may need to be replaced.

me id use google earth to locate there service center (where it got sent to repair )and then see there (elevation) if it exceeds 3k feet (I suspect it might) then id gather this info and send it in a nice letter to your states attorney general for fraudulent claims , im betting one letter of intent to pursue consumer ***** from them to dewalt and you'll see a differnet outcome !!

Breaker chisel fat of any brand is alowed thats important for the guiding fields in the locking sleeve and also a little longer lasting of the stroke bolt. Its a good thing but in practice 70% of the proffesional workers does nothing used on the chisel. BUT ... Small independent workers usually.

The first ring is pos 88 remove but wait ,! first solvent clean the whole head and the fitting part of the chisel try first before take any operation on the chisel to shift the rubber gasket on the bit with a little screwdriver if its cleanwet before all and then remove pos 88 a locking ring then look good on the parts order of your right powertool diagram setting of your hammer. If its cleaned and the parts are removed from the locking sleeve wher the chisel is in place the chisel with whole hammer in a vise and only then if the 2 locking devices out the locking sleeve are removed take a bench hammer with the point on the front part pos 94 between chisel and hammer sleeve and with a heavy mallet on the bench Hammer the machine from the chisel.

Dewalt jackhammer d25980 starting module damaged after only 1 month operation; since it is still covered by the what "dewalt calls 3 years warranty" (actually a big fiasco), it was sent to the dewalt authorized technicians; it took them 21 days to theoretically solve the problem. they stated that the module was defective, and that after having replaced it the machine was ready to operate. but the truth is that only after a 30min operation it again stopped working, now they are stating that the machine is not fit to operate at altitudes exciding the 3000 ft.so my question are: 1st if that's the case; why do they sell a product that will not operate in the city it was purchased which already exceeds the altitude limitation they came up with,(of which nothing is mentioned on the operation manual) 2nd why did the machine operate very well for the first 60 hrs; if the altitude would be a functional limitation, the jackhammer should have malfunction right from the beginning. to me the true fact is, Dewalt does not want to assume their responsibility, their product is terrible and they don't want to honor their warranty. if altitude is a problem they should reimburse the money immediately and second if that's not the case, they should totally substitute the defective apparatus, which is not even 3 month old.

This is an indication that the hammer needs service. When you take the barrel off you will see the striker. There is a piston inside the striker, when the rubber rings on the piston wear out you have the problem you describe. time to replace the motor brushes clean and regressed, make sure to use the correct grease, Check the backlash on ring and pinions.
