Where can i get o-rings and seals for hds890
The Orings are simple just take them off and go to a good hareware store and match them up there standard sizes although they could be metric depending where the gun was made . You don't say what you are trying to rebuild . If you need to repack the unit likely you will need to talk to craftsman to get the kit and every thing you need to do it would be in this kit . You may have a choice between leather or nylon depending on what meterials you are spraying .Kits range form 60 to 120 dollars . You need to think if this is worth rebuilding if the pistion is scored or damaged that would cost 3 to 4 hunderd dollars to replace . The mechine is realy not a preficinal unit and if there is dryed paint in it . Its likely not worth it you could rent one for 50 bucks a day CRAFT PAINTING CO.
I have an older Sears Craftsman air compressor
The pump used on your compressor was incorporated into different designs thus needed access to oil fill from one side or the other. Part number for oil plug was std-220 or 27642, but you can use just regular standard pipe thread plug with square head. If the oil plug fits the other hole. Buy plumbing parts at Lowes. Good Luck

Unit will
If the unit does not unload properly the motor will have difficulty starting. Make sure that the intank check valve is not leaking air back out of tank (with pressure in tank, remove hose from compressor at tank checkvalve and spray soapy water). Replace as needed if leaking or try to repair. If the valve is not leaking then issue my be unloader valve at the pressure switch. Follow small airline from checkvalve to pressure switch. Small valve stem at the pressure switch should release air in line when pressure switch cuts off. Listen for small amount of air to be released when unit shuts off, if air continues to leak out, then check valve is leaking. Replace with generic parts making sure of fitting size. Good luck
I have a 30 gallon
To me sounds like the breaker, or power supply is not enough for unit. Cool temps will slow the juice down, on a solid copper wire. but once its heated to max, your done.I would check the power supply first. Also, check for a drain, could be kicking cause its full of water.
I have a craftsman oiless air compressor. All
check your hose or couplers for restiction --------- try exchaging with know good ones------- the rubber seal in the female coupler may be the culprit ------------torn// deteriated// comming apart & blocking off air flow....
I have an older model Sears Craftsman air
Could be the bearing in the pully wheel rides on,,not the belt,,,While its running spray some belt dressing on belt to see if its the belt,,,while running get a can of wd-40 with long nosel attachment and spray the armeture that tures pully when you spray it if its the bearing it will stop makeing noise momentarly, than come back again than as you spray it it will stop as long as you spray. BE CAREFUL. Bearings wear out when old,,,like us!
I have a craftsman
first I hope that you drain the water out of the tank regularly. It seems as though you might have an air hose collapsing but in any case there is something apparently restricting air flow too the gun. try opening the petcock and see if you have steady air discharge or not and if you have another air hose try it. Also, are coming directly off the compressor to the tool or do you have an oiler or drier in line? if so, eliminate the accessory. Let me know how you do....I'm curious.

Hi,
Your wire to the motor is too light a gauge wire or you are using too small of a gauge electric cord on it.
For a three HP motor you will need to use at least a 10 gauge wire or cord on a thirty amp. circuit...

Builds up 160 psi but no pressure on secondary
You probably need a new regulator. When you crank down on the regulator spring, it provides the pressure balance that makes the regulator work. The more pressure on the spring, the higher the pressure output setting. The usual reason that you can't get pressure is because there is no pressure on the spring because the spring is broken. This often happens when the regulator has been cranked down too hard trying to get maximum pressure.
Good luck,

Installed new breaker just for
You need to find out how much amperage the compressor pulls and make sure the wiring and breaker are sized correctly.
If they are sized correctly then you likely have an issue with the motor or the compressor itself causing the breaker to operate.

Leak at pressure switch is an indication that the in-tank check valve is leaking.
Follow small hose from pressure switch to the tank (usually brass valve). Remove hose at the brass valve and check for leak there. If leaking replace valve with generic valve from ebay or WWw. grainger.com or use exact part (some valves can be cleaned, as debris can be lodged between seat). Good luck
Where do I oil it?
your gonna wanna oil thru the connection at the air line, 3-4 drops, also keep the front of nailer, where the driver goes thru, 4-5 times per day of use. with neaumatic oil, oil for air tools.and give the 3-4 drops before operation, and the 4-5, while in use.
I can't find a replacement
Hi you have to bring the old capacitor to a electric motor shop so they can match it up or write the name and numbers off the motor and give it to them and I am sure they should be able to match one up.
Mdl.919.165250need to change wiring from 110v
Your compressor was made by Porter Cable for Sears. The motor / pump is used on many different compressor models depending on tank size and style options. None of the models /including yours/ were ever designed for 115/220v. I did happen to see a compressor that was built for european destination that was 220v. It was easy to identify because it had a two round prong male plug (it could not be wired for 115v however). Good Luck
Craftsman Air Compressor 919.156640 -- Today, when
Take it apart, just watch for the springs and valve falling out. Regulators aren't complicated and if you can save $40 for ten minutes' worth of disassembly, cleaning and reassembly then you're probably ahead.
If nothing else, you get to see exactly how it works, and that's worth something too.

I just bought a new craftsman prof 27 gal air
It sounds like the small valve that releases the pressure out of the main pipe that runs between the compressor and tank is not working once the tank is full and the motor automatically cuts off. You know this valve is working by the sound of a short spurt if air being released when the motor cuts off. Releasing this pressure means that the motor is able to restart easily because there is no load. If the valve is not releasing this air, the compressor is trying to start under full load which the motor is not capable of doing, hence the humming and popping of breakers due to a current overload as the motor tries to start. Motor burnout is possible if it keeps recurring.
This small release valve is attached to the Pressure control switch that switches the motor On & Off and usually has a small pipe going to it or is incorporated inside the Pressure Control Switch. If the valve appears to be working then it means that the Non-return valve on the input to the tank is not sealing properly and letting air back into the main pipe causing the compressor to start under load. Check both valves for correct operation and if not working properly, talk to the people you bought it from to have it repaired under warranty seeing that unit is brand new .
