Fan works, cooling element works

icing is caused by one of two things .. if the air flow is restricted .. or if the unit is low on refrigerant .. the air flow is frequently restricted by dust accumulation in the evaporator coil (where the ice is forming) .. if that the case you can check with a flashlight and wash or vacuum out any accumulation .. . the fan could be running slow due to a lack of lube in its bearings or something might be blocking air flow .. when you first turn it on check for good air flow .. if that is ok then suspect the low refrigerant level ... what happens is that if the correct amount of fluid is in the system then the entire evaporator gets evenly cool but not excessively so .. but if the fluid is a little low then one small section of the evaporator gets very cold .. that freezes and that, in turn, blocks air flow so the freezing process progresses across the entire evaporator until its hopelessly clogged with ice .. you must thaw it out by turning it off for a day or so .. the refrigerant fluid systems in most of these are sealed .. so you don't really have any way of adding more fluid .. a repair person will add a special "saddle valve" that pierces the metal tubing .. that allows recharging the system .. he would also check for leaks .. there is one, or the level would not be low .. sometimes its such a small leak that a charge will last for years and you don't have to worry about it .. the repair person would use a soap/water solution to check for bubbles..or he could use a "sniffer" (a tool that detects leaks) when he finds the leak then he would repair it by braising or epoxy or other patch method .. you would want to get an estimate before repairs because sometimes it cost more to repair than to replace the unit .. thats a shame but thats the way things are now ..

Hi,
There are many reasons for a dehumidifier2_bing.gif to not work or collect water.
Here is a tip that I wrote to help people to figure out what is going wrong with their dehumidifier2_bing.gif.

My delonghi dem 10 dehumidifier is working and collecting water but but the pause is continuously flashing why is this

The flashing pause light on your DeLonghi dehumidifier indicates that the unit is in a defrost cycle. During this time, the compressor shuts off and the fan continues to run in order to thaw any ice that may have formed on the coils. This process typically lasts for 10-15 minutes before the unit resumes normal operation. If the pause light continues to flash even after the defrost cycle is complete, it may indicate a problem with the unit's sensor or control board. In this case, it is recommended to consult the user manual or contact a professional for assistance with troubleshooting and repairs.

I have a DeLonghi NF 90 air conditioner/dehumidifier. The dehumidifier does not appear to be working - first time I have tried to dehumidify. Have had this unit for about 8 years. Thanks, Niall

If the air conditioner works and is blowing out super chilled air, then the dehumidifier function should work. The function takes in warm moist air and passes it over plates which are marginally colder than the ambient air. The air condenses and drips into a collection tank, or some have drain hose for putting into a floor drain. After 8 years, it may need service and gassing up, but you may also have drier air than you think. Whether is works in AC Mode is the key.

Can a Delonghi dehumidifier DH25 be connected to an outlet pipe to get rid of the water? It's working fine, but I ned to empty it nearly every day

Some dehumidifiers have provisions for connection of an ordinary garden hose to drain into a tub, a standpipe, or a sump pit.

DELONGHI DH300P E3

The E3 Code, indicates that the air intake filter needs to be removed and cleaned. Be sure the unit is OFF and unplugged before removing the filter. Filter cleaning should be performed at least once every two weeks, as part of Routine Maintenance.

My DeLonghi DEM10 wont power on any more - like fuse gone

The tank may be full. Your dehumidifier has a safety device that turns off the dehumidifier when the water tank is full. Usually the tank itself either presses against a switch or there's a device connected to the tank that triggers a switch when the tank is in place and full.

If you've emptied the tank and the unit doesn't run, inspect the place where the tank rests to see if there's a switch or mechanism that's not being activated. You may be able to turn it on with a simple flick of your finger.

Your DeLonghi DE500P cannot condense wet air into water, although it forms icy blocks which blocks the flow of water.

Dear Heemin, From the wording which you have used, it appears you think you are talking to the DeLonghi company. You are not. You are speaking to "fixya:". Please contact DeLonghi or one of it's dealers by finding their access information on your computer's search engine. God bless your efforts.

Good morning. I have a DeLonghi

Are you worried as to why there is no Water in the Water Tank/Bucket at all? Well, a few operational basics must be understood by you please. For the unit to remove moisture from the air and draw water into the bucket/tank, the set relative humidity (%RH) must be below the current or ambient room relative humidity. Attempt to lower or reduce the setting you have to a lower value and it should start collecting water in the tank. Hope this helps
