Belt stops after 2 seconds
If the machine starts and tries to go full speed, the motor controller is defective.
Remove the cover. Under the cover is a tech sheet. The tech sheet will explain what the red LEDs' flashes mean.
I suspect you are experiencing an over current shutdown. The controller senses too much current and shuts down b4 causing damage.
Remove the drive belt and run the machine. It will run this way no problems. If it still shuts down, I would suspect the motor.
If it runs ok, you might want to loosen the walking belt and reinstall the drive belt and retest. A walking belt that is too tight will cause an over current shutdown.
Disconnect the motor (1 wire, either black or red) and start the machine. The relay will clik on. If it remains on, then the controller is probably OK. The motor is defective.if the controller cliks on then off again, the controller is defective..
Not start
The single most cause of no motor output is failure of the DC motor control. Before you attempt to determine if it is the control, you must first rule out simple things.
1) Make sure you have power in the wall outlet by plugging in a lamp, etc. into the same outlet the treadmill is plugged into to test. Plug it in the exact same receptacle. Sometimes in an outlet one receptacle will work and the other won't.
2) Make sure any breakers are fuses that may have tripped or blown have been reset or replaced. Your local Radio Shack can help you test the fuses. Use the same type of fuse. Changing the value of the fuse can be dangerous or cause a fire.
3) Make sure the power switch is turned on and the safety key is inserted into the console if you have a safety key.
4) Look for any test lights on the power boards beneath the motor hood. Use caution when removing the motor hood because you may still have electricity in the motor area even if the treadmill is unplugged.
5) Test for a motor control failure. Typically if you have a failure, the treadmill will continue to turn on and operate normally until you try to input speed. If the treadmill operates on what we call a closed-loop system, it will give you some type of error message. If it operates on
an open-loop system, the computer will run normally but the motor will not turn.
6) If you have a multimeter, you can test to make sure you have DC output from the controller spades. First make sure you have 120 VAC going in to the controller. On most controls, you can use a linear taper potentiometer or jump the W and H circuits of the control with an insulated wire or insulated pliers and apply AC voltage. The DC output spades should output DC voltage if the control is good.
Next thing is to unplug the treadmill then check the motor with one these methods
Methods to test a motor:
1)
Cordless drill battery- get a fully-charged, 18 volt (preferred) cordless drill battery and on most treadmills connect the red and black motor leads to the battery (some have different colors but if you have two wires and get it hooked up backwards, the motor will just run backwards and won’t be harmed). If good, the motor should operate at about 1 MPH.
2)
Car battery- these are 12VDC high amp batteries so the motor will turn slowly but you can walk on the belt. Always be careful with battery acid on these things so we don’t recommend bringing them in the house…take the treadmill to the battery.
3)
Lantern battery- a fully charged lantern battery should operate your motor at a slow speed but lacks the amperage to have someone walk on the belt.
4)
If you have a multi meter and you don't have any of the three mentioned above, then disconnect the motor leads and connect them to the meter.Lay the meter down to where you can observe it.
Push the running belt what happens is that the motor is now a generator and by manually pushing the belt you should get a DC voltage reading( the fast you push the higher the reading) then the motor is good if no reading the motor needs to be replaced
The treadmill stops as soon as I step on it. It
read in manual on 2nd page in grey area # 3, 4,7 IF THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE, then 2nd question, how old is item, from what you stated, if weight of user not issue and item is fairly new, sounds like mtr dr. belt slipping/loose. can be tightned up like belt on car-under the hood-but if under manufactures warranties, best call them first!!

Proform crosswalk caliber elite cuts off after 10 minutes of use
Here are some possible causes and solutions:
Overheating: If the motor or electronics of the treadmill get too hot, the machine may shut down to prevent damage. Make sure that the treadmill is placed in a well-ventilated area and that the air filters are clean. You can also try lubricating the walking belt to reduce friction.
Faulty speed sensor: If the speed sensor is malfunctioning, it may cause the treadmill to shut down. You can try cleaning the speed sensor with a soft cloth and see if that helps .
Worn walking belt: If the walking belt is worn or damaged, it may cause the treadmill to shut down. You can try replacing the walking belt and see if that helps.
Electrical issues: If there are any electrical issues with the treadmill, it may cause the machine to shut down. You can try resetting the circuit breaker or unplugging the treadmill for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.
If none of these solutions work, it may be best to contact Proform customer service.
Incline won't work on Proform 400s Treadmill
If you've already replaced the lift motor on your Proform 400s Treadmill and the incline still won't work properly, there may be other underlying issues that need to be addressed. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check the wiring: Ensure that all the wiring connections related to the incline mechanism are secure and properly connected. Loose or damaged wiring can cause issues with the incline functionality.
Inspect the incline motor and gears: Examine the incline motor and gears for any signs of damage, misalignment, or obstruction. Ensure that the gears are engaging properly and that there are no obstructions preventing the incline from moving up and down smoothly.
Reset the treadmill: Perform a full system reset on your treadmill. This can often resolve minor software glitches or issues that may be affecting the incline function. Consult your treadmill's user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
Contact customer support: If you have followed the above steps and the issue persists, it is recommended to reach out to the customer support of Proform or the retailer from whom you purchased the treadmill. They should be able to provide further troubleshooting guidance or arrange for professional repair assistance if needed.
Remember to exercise caution when working with electrical components or performing any repairs on your treadmill. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with the process, it is advisable to seek assistance from a qualified technician or the manufacturer's customer support to ensure proper diagnosis and resolution of the issue.
