o 1 Ensurethat the treadmill is plugged into a grounded outlet using the correct surgesuppressor. Use a UL 1449 suppressor listed as a transient voltage surgesuppressor (TVSS). It must be rated for 15 amps and 120 volts AC. Secure theservices of an electrician if the outlet is not grounded, or move the Proformtreadmill near a grounded outlet. Do not use an extension cord. o 2 Insertthe safety key fully into the display. Treadmills with keys are designed not toturn on without the safety key in place. o 3 Findthe circuit breaker on the front of the frame and make sure it is not tripped.The circuit breaker is a vertical switch on the 540S and a horizontal switch onthe 540 Interactive Trainer. Press it to the "Reset" position, whichwill be labeled.2. ReedSwitch
o 1 Unplugthe treadmill and remove the safety key. o 2 Movethe upright base of the treadmill down with the help of another person and liftthe uprights so that you can get to the underside of the console. Use aPhillips screwdriver with at least a 5-inch shaft to remove the screws. Thereare five hood screws on the 540 Interactive trainer and four screws on the540S. o 3 Removethe motor hood to get to the small reed switch by pivoting the hood off theframe. Find the reed switch and magnet, which are on the left side of thepulley for both models. o 4 Turnthe pulley with your hand until the reed switch aligns with the magnet. Thereshould be 1/8-inch gap between the two. Fix the distance so that it is 1/8 inchby loosening the reed switch screw and sliding it to the correct distance. System usage statistics on main motor:
By that reason the problem is the Main Motor is faulty!, some technician from the factory must be set up your machine. You must call them for to replace the main motor, and adjusting in the main controller(Boar for control the main motor).
When you had been repair the motor , I will STRONG recommend you to install some stabilizer voltage in the power cord in the receptable is Not expensive, will be costo about us$15.00 aprox.

If you can walk on your treadmill but you get a burning smell from it, you have a bad problem and discontinue use immediately and unplug the treadmill.

Burning smells are most commonly associated with the following problems:

1) Very high belt/deck friction.

2) Short in the motor.

3) Short in the wiring or electronics.

4) Literally cooking the lacquer or cardboard core (on cheap machines) in the motor from belt friction or a drive system

obstruction.

Friction is the #1 cause of this problem. Many cheaper treadmills have a motor with a cardboard core (people wonder why we are so

down on cheap treadmills) and if the voltage and amperage through the motor heats it up sufficiently, it begins to smolder. If this is the

case, you normally have to replace the belt and the motor and inspect the deck. If the armature has cooked enough in the motor, you

also have to replace the motor.

If the belt and deck check out OK, check for a short in the motor. You can run the motor with an independent power source like a fullycharged

cordless drill battery to see if the symptoms are the same. Click on the following link for our motor test.

If the belt and deck check out and the motor is OK, then check your wiring and electronics for signs of scorching and replace the

appropriate part(s).

D) Controller:

This is the most uncommon of the causes. Typically replacing a controller in this situation will not solve the underlying problem and then

you will end up replacing a belt as well as a control. Normally if a

control is dropping output, it will do it with a person on the belt or not. Tests of DC output dropping is normal in many controls since they

have a current limiter which will automatically drop output to prevent burning up the board. This is best diagnosed by eliminating the

other possible problems first. If you are left with the control as the cause,

Press and hold the SPEED Down Arrow Key and press the Pause Key to toggle Immobilized feature ON/OFF
