Precor 9.21 Treadmill - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Hi, my Precor 9.21 treadmil was working fine,
Unplug unit remove motor shroud take a look at incline motor frame assembly, by the sound of it maybe metal fatigue failure disengaging the incline motor itself and could have damage it. This would be my best guess if so contact Precor.
My Treadmill shuts down after 10 mins on it. Can
If you have not ever lubricated the running deck then I suggest doing so . What happens is that the lack of lubrication will tend to make the belt drag or stop . The lower board will register a excessive current thus shutting down. If the lubrication does work then you may need to replace the running belt and flip the deck if this process has never done.
Same problem
I would suggest that you reattach the two wire that their because the unit is pull too much current and that safety feature is to protect both motor and lower board from damage. If you have not been instructed by your local dealer about preventative maintenance Most Precor running are double sided, which means both surfaces are usable and are coated with wax. The easiest way without dismantling your unit is to follow this procedure:
You may purchase this wax product @ http://www.gympart.com/ or call them 1-800-496-7278 I would recommend what is call WAX BLAST they come in 3oz or 6oz bottles.
Now the fun part to apply this product you must first get the treadmill and walk on it for about 5min to heat up the deck, then stop the unit with your product go to upper third of the belt lift edge of the belt stick the nozzle between the belt and deck squeeze the bottle approx. amount 1 tbs of wax to the center then get back on the treadmill and walk for 10 min this is to heat up the wax so that belt will act like a wick to absorb wax! This should be done every 3 months or so. Their a catch if this does fix the problem you may be investing in a new belt and possible and new deck. Hope this take of it!!
Back dust coming from drum
This is telling you that the running deck which has a black phenolic surface is literal being sanded off the particle board you will need to have both belt and deck replaced, because like doing a brake job you don't replace the pads without turning the rotors that if you want it to last longer and be safer.
Overheating??
If you are able tho rest it then I suggest this procedure as I have for all Precors:
Sounds like the wax lubrication has finally boiled off the belt, the easiest way eliminate this problem is to rewax the deck. You may purchase this @ http://www.gympart.com/ or call them 1-800-496-7278 I would recommend what is call WAX BLAST they come in 3oz or 6oz bottles.

Can you tell me what Err22 is? Thanks!
Description
Error 22 indicates that the drive motor (running belt) has been instructed to start, by either
manual or program control, and the monitoring system has not received any response from the
speed sensing system indicating that the drive motor has started.
Possible Causes
1. The treadmill utilizes an optical (infrared) speed sensor and the line of sight between the
speed sensor and the speed sensor target is obstructed.
2. Drive motor brushes are bad.
3. The speed sensor position relative to the speed sensor target is incorrect.
4. The speed sensor potentiometer adjustment is incorrect (when equipped).
5. The speed sensor is inoperative.
6. The lower PCA is bad.
7. The lower PCA to upper PCA interconnect cable is bad.
8. The upper PCA is bad
Possible Remedies
1. Carefully, vacuum out the drive motor compartment with a static safe vacuum cleaner. Pay
special attention to the area between the speed sensor and speed sensor target.
2. If the motor brushes do not make sufficient contact with the motor commutator, the drive
motor will not start when drive voltage is applied. Replace both drive motor brushes.
3. Adjust the speed sensor position so that the space between the speed sensor and the speed
sensor target is 3/16 inch and so that the speed sensor photo eye is aimed at the larger
portion of the targets wedge shaped section. On hall effect speed sensors (magnetic sensor)
the space between the end of the speed sensor and the flywheel tooth should be 3/16 inch.
4. Locate the speed sensor potentiometer on the lower PCA. Set the speed sensor
potentiometer at mid-range. Start the treadmill and increase the speed to 6 mile per hour.
Carefully adjust the speed sensor potentiometer to the point where the treadmill is operating
the smoothest. Increase the treadmills speed to full speed at repeat the previous adjustment.
These two adjustments are typically small and are usually only a matter of fine tuning.
5. If the speed sensor in inoperative the drive motor will start and run briefly before the error 21
occurs. If it is possible to access the speed sensor wiring, measure the D.C. voltage between
the speed sensor leads Two of the leads will constantly read approximately 5 Vdc. Two of the
leads will toggle between 0 Vdc. and 5 Vdc. as you slowly rotate the speed sensor target. If
you do not see both measurements above, the speed sensor is inoperative and must be
replaced. In some cases the speed sensor is mounted on the lower PCA and the the lower
PCA must be replaced.
6. Substitute a known good lower PCA to determine if the lower PCA is bad.
7. Substitute a known good interconnect cable for the existing cable.
8. Substitute a known good upper PCA to determine if the upper PCA is bad.
What and how do you correct err41 on precor9.21
Error 41 - Lift has not responded within time limit. First, check the lift motor connection on the control board. If the connection is good, then either the lift motor or the control board is bad.
What does code 22 mean?

Turn on switch, but nothing including the
should be the switch or the cable or may be no voltage present on the outlet wall. you can try connecting another electrical apparatus in the plug if this it works well, so you may be call a tenchnician for this inspection the lower board or the switch.
I hope that this helps you in something
My precor 100I AMT elliptical keeps resetting when you slow down. Anybody know what's causing this?
Check RPM Feedback:
The most common cause for the timer to stop after 7 seconds on a Precor elliptical is NO RPM feedback.
Start by checking the connection of the speed sensor to the lower board. If necessary, reset the connection.
Also, inspect the magnet located on the user's right crank arm (versions 1 and 2) or the user's left crank arm (version 3). The magnet passes the speed sensor with each revolution of the crank arm.
Ensure that the magnet is installed correctly, with its south pole facing the speed sensor. You can verify the magnet polarity using another magnet or a compass.
Speed Sensor Spacing:
Confirm that the spacing between the speed sensor and the magnet is within the range of 1/8" to 1/4". Adjust if necessary.
Battery and Power:
If your elliptical has a battery, check its status. A low battery could cause issues.
Consider using the optional power adapter kit to ensure consistent power supply.
Error Codes and Clearing Logs:
Check for any error codes displayed on the console.
Clear the error codes and power down the unit.
Inspect cable connections to ensure they are fully seated.
Power on the unit and monitor the error code log for any reoccurrence.
Professional Assistance:
If the issue persists, consider reaching out to professional repair services or contacting Precor support for further assistance.
Precor EFX 556 cross trainer slow startup
My precor efx556 does not detect pedaling, how can i fix it?
hello there, check if the lift control system is detected the lift is moving in the opposite direction of the issued lift command. This error would happen when the lift was already in motion (typically downward) when a lift command in the opposite direction (lift upward) was issued.
