Proform Crosswalk Advanced 525X
One possibility is the pulley in the front roller. The shaft that goes into the roller slips making the belt seem as if its slipping. To check it it requires tmarking both surfaces with paint and then see if the mark seperates.

Incline not working
Try recalibrating. There is a trouble shooting guide under the hood (motor cover) of the treadmill. It will have the calibrating proceedues there.

The incline will go up, but will not go back down.
Press down the stop and speed up button. Hold these buttons down and insert the safety key then release all. The screen should be different. Press stop once and hit the elevation up or down button. These are general direction. If you look under the hood of the machine, there is a trouble shooting guide. It will have the exact calibratiing proceedures.

Proform Crosswalk Dual Motion Cross Trainer
I think you are talking about the front roller. It has a rubber sleeve that helps to grip the walking belt. Sometimes you can tighten this enough to keep it from slipping but you run the risk of overtightening and damaging both rollers. We recomend replacing that roller.

I am trying to repair the slippage on my Proform
Most treads have two bolts on the rear roller. To tighten turns these bolts clockwise. Depending on how bad the problem is, I usually turn a 1/4 turn at a time. Walk on the machine to check tension. Once tension is correct turn right side bolt or left side bolt to center belt. Remember belt will travel to side with least resistance. ie.. if you want the belt to go to the left- tighten the right side(clockwise) Centering the belt is easier with machine running at about 2-2.5 if belt is not rubbing on the sides.

My treadmill turns off after 1/2 hour what's wrong
If it's exactly at .5 hours, that sounds like a programming issue. No if it just around 30 mins, this sounds like it could be a lubrication problem. Try lubing the walk belt to see if there is a difference. With belt going that long, lubricating should solve the problem.

Belt makes noise, like it is scrapping something!
Do you have a three year old in the house?? Our ProForm 795 treadmill started making noise when the belt was rotating. Come to find out, he had hidden a plastic clothes hanger inside where the drive roller spins the belt. That was our scaping noise.
Otherwise, is your belt tensioned correctly? If not, it could be tracking to one side or the other.

This usually caused by a slipping drive motor belt. remove the hood cover, one screw in rear and 2 on the bottom. There will be an adjustable bracket on the drive motor. Good luck, Tim

Walking belt stop when you walk
this usually is caused by your tensioners on each side of the upper belt roller have become misalligned and for whatever reason now needs to be adjusted
one side is basically lower on the horizontal
so it slips down as it spins

Pro-Form 540S.
My opinion is that the problem is probably a faulty ribbon cable. Proform is infamous for this. I have listed a solution below. The cost is minimal, but it's a real headache. If you are ambitious you might want to save the $300+ that it will cost for a new control panel. Others will recognize that it's just not worth the hassle.
My opinion is that the contacts are worn on the
ribbon cable that is located behind or near the decline button. People experiencing this problem have also reported that speed control is inoperable, stop button will not work, and start button was not functioning properly. Remove the cable by removing the retaining latch. Then you'll need to carefully apply conductive coating to the worn ribbon cable leads. This is a dual-sided ribbon cable so you'll need to apply this coating to the appropriate side for each contact. Let it dry for 12hours. Carefully trim any excess of conductive coating on the new tracks with an exacto knife so they are nice and straight and adequately seperated. Be very careful not to cut through the ribbon tape. Just use enough pressure to trim the applied coating. When applying the conductive coating use as small an applicator as possible like a pointed q-tip or a tooth pick to keep from spilling onto the adjacent tracks. This is very tedious task.

There should be adjustment screws on the back left and right sides. The screws will be horizontal with the tread, and probably need an allen wrench to tighten. If the tread runs straight, tighten each side 1/4 turn at a time to keep them even. Check the tread after each adjustment, and stop as soon as the tread quits slipping.
