the battery was disconnected on the 07 hilux and the radio/sat nav just asks for the correct map disk to be inserted but the map disk is in it and it doesnt do anything...

it is unlikely that the light is causing the battery to drain. it sounds like the system is in valet mode, if it's an older Clifford with a two button keypad somewhere (typically on the dash), turn ignition on, and press the * button twice, then press and hold the blank button.
if it's a newer Clifford system (Clifford Matrix), locate the valet button, then turn the key to ignition (ON), then off and press and release the valet button.

close all doors on car lock and unlock the driverside door

This depends on the type of security system. Some security systems use the red flashing light for the indicator that the door is open. If the key wont turn at all then the problem is with the key. Most security systems will allow the key turn and the engine will roll but the car will not start due to the immobilizer.
So what you have to do is check and ensure that the key is the right one because security systems do not stop the key from turning. Check the key then contact the supplier of the security system if it is a new system. feel free to request further support.

take your key for the vehicle, and unlock the vehicle by turning the key in the driver door to the unlock position. Also simply try starting the car with the key, sometimes the factory systems will allow you to dasarm if you start the car with a programmed key.

i think that if this is the factory alarm then its nothing more sinister than the electronic door lock in the drivers door sticking and removing the door panel and giving a good oiling with a oil can with engine oil will cure it ,if you have a after market alarm try the oil trick as that is most often the problem if more serious then get the wire cutters out and remove the alarm as these after market things always give problems with component failure or malfuntion of the made in china chips used.All the symptoms you describe are classic door lock problems that i get anything up to twice a month and in 90% of cases the oil trick hits the spot
