There is not a replaceable motor filter inside the body of the vacuum. There is an exhaust filter under the cover on top which can be removed by pushing a little tab at the rear of the cover.
the dial sets the type of dirt you are vacuuming.Fine dust allow bag to fill before shutting down.The best is to turn it to the middle,this should allow bag to fill properly before shutting down...Chris
the dials refer to types of dirt.The higher the dial the heavier the dirt.This is for the auto shut off when the bag is full.The best setting is in the middle.If you are vacuuming up fine dust suck in some Kleenex before this will coat the bag and prevent premature shu toff.
