OPENING CANISTER ON LUX5000
DONT KNOW WHAT THE 5000 CANNISTER LOOKS LIKE BUT MY 2100 IS A PULL BEHIND CANNISTER AND IT WAS SNEAKY. THE LONG PLASTIC STRIPS DOWN THE SIDES HAS A TRACK IN IT. YOU MUST OPEN THE DOOR AND PULL THE STRIP OFF THE TRACK LONG WAYS AND THE TOP HALF WILL SEPERATE FROM THE BOTTOM HALF. BEWARE THE WIRING INSIDE IS JUST LONG ENOUGH AND CAN DISCONNECT EASY. I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS THE SAME BUT NOONE ELSE WAS VOLUNTEERING ANY INFO AT ALL.
Prong broke in outlet
Are you familiar with electricity? If not you need to get an electrician to come in and look at it. Could be fixed quickly without the danger of you getting shocked. If You are familiar with electricity you can shut the power off. Take a tester and check it to see if there is power in the socket. then you could take small tweezers and pull it out in not then you would have to replace the receptical. Hope that helps. Just remember be safe and have someone proffessional to do it and no one gets hurt.
THE VACUUM CLEANER WORKS FOR 6-7 MINS THEN CUTS
What you describe is typical of a machine that's overheating. This is almost always caused by a blockage. Check the machine thoroughly for any blockages, including any filters, and my bet is that you will find something that shouldn't be there that needs removing (or possibly replacing).
I hope this helps. Good luck!
Electrolux #1521 Canister Vacuum won't stay closed
hi from uk your problem with the canister cover/door coming off whilst vaccing ? you have renewed bag ? ok but there is a filter/gauze also inside the canister where bag is fitted if you check inside you should see the filter at opposite end from where bag is secured it is usually fitted behind a slotted pull out plastic gate ? this filter/gauze is to allow air out of canister when vaccing and the filter traps any dust that may accumulate inside the canister case so the dust does not get blown out to atmosphere/rooms SO if this filter is clogged it will not allow vacced air to escape out of canister so result is build up of pressure within cylinder and eventually cover flips open ! so for now you can remove filter/gauze and wash then dry refit this will allow air to escape from canister but still retain dust particles from escaping as it is designed for however may i suggest you replace filter when convenient ? all above is on assuming that the latch on cover is working ok and not now damaged ? hope this helps best wishes

Electrolux Model E switch wiring diagram
The black wire coming from the power cord connects to one side of the switch and the other black and the red wire go to the other side of the switch. If it turns on with the switch in the off position reverse the sides. Good luck. If you need anymore help just ask. Please rate me so I know if I helped. Thanks.
Power cord will not retract on my Electrolux UltraLux 2000
You will need to take the machine apart to correct this. Open the front of the canister
and remove the bag. As you are looking
at the front of the unit, there are two vinyl covered strips that run
the length of the unit. Pull forward on these strips and then pull out
so that the vinyl separates from the plastic underneath. Now grab the
plastic strip with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull towards the
front of the canister. These can be tough if the machine has never been
opened up before, but pull as hard as you need to, to slide the strip
out. Once both strips are out, turn the machine over, pull out on the
sides of the bottom of the unit, and lift up. The bottom should come
off
relatively easily, and everything will be exposed. Now, assuming that the cordwinder isn't damaged, you should be able to wind the cord in by hand. Once it gets started it may start to retract automatically. Usually the spring just gets in a bind against the housing when it's over extended, and rolling it in by hand a little will free it up. Good Luck!!
Electrolux 2100 new bag placed full bag indicator appears
It appears you have a bad control valve. My suggestion is to take it to your nearest Aerus dealer and have them replace it for you. You can find them by going to aerusonline.com and use their dealer locater. It shouldn't cost much to replace. You can disable it, but I don't suggest it. It is in place to protect you motor, and assuming you bought this machine new, you are aware of how much they cost. If you can't find a dealer locally, call the closest one and they may ship you the part. If you have to do it yourself, here is how. Open the front of the canister and remove the bag.
The bottom should come off
relatively easily, and everything will be exposed. The control valve
rests under the bag housing, since the machine is now upside down. Pull the bag housing out, and the control valve will be right there. It's circular with vacuum lines connected to it. Just pull it out and move the vacuum lines to the new one, but be sure you get them in the right position!. It won't work if you don't. I
hope this helps. Good Luck!!
