Hi I have an electrolux vacumm cleaner, super J

Looks like there's an interchanged wires in your vacuum. Both the motor and the powerhead must go together. Check it up. Leave the
motor wiring connection intact. Just tinker and check the powerhead
wiring connection .

Try putting the bag in again. There is a kill switch on your door usually in the bottom left as your putting the bag in. Make sure that your bag covers that kill switch and your vac should start again.

Good luck.

Have ultra lux 2000. Quit while vacuming an wont

It's a very simple unit. The power goes this way: power cord, cord spool contacts, speed controller board and motors.
If both motors have failed then you will need to completely dismantle the unit and check if the cord and the contacts are intact - you most likely will have to replace the cord. It's not a very complicated job: all you need are a Philips screwdriver for the screws that hold the bottom, a flat one to pop out the plastic hooks of the top cover and a pair of pliers to unhook the contacts. A replacement cord can be found at every electrics DIY shop.

Hi,
You may have pulled dirt and dust into the motor, but before doing anything else make sure that you have removed and cleaned/replaced the after filter...it is under a cover in the back of the unit...
It is also recommended that this filter be replaced every six bags anyway...

This unit also has a seven year warranty on it, so if the filter does not correct the problem, then return it to a dealer for repair under warranty.

In case you do not have a manual to find the filter and read about the warranty click here

How do you open the back of the canister to get

You can't take the back off. You have to separate the top and the bottom of the canister. The screws are on the bottom. Once the machine is apart, all interior components are easily accessible. Be careful when you re-assemble it not to pinch any of the wires that run along the side.

You can usually get it to rewind by tipping the front up and gently tugging and releasing the cord.
The back doesn't come off unless the top is separated from the bottom first. Do to difficulty in disassembly without breaking something, and reassembling correctly, I strongly recomment taking it to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store for repair.

I JUST REPLACED THE MOTOR

Things that may cause this.

First, turn dial on top of vacuum counter-clockwise so the smallest dot lines up with the arrow. See if it stays on. If not, detach hose and turn vacuum on. Place palm of hand over intake. If it turns off, it's possible that the tubes connecting to the CVA are clogged and simply need cleaned. This is most often caused by using "made to fit" Electrolux bags. Dust is sucked through the bags and into the motor compartment of the machine. All interior parts get covered in dust and need to be cleaned. If this is the cause, the vacuum is best cleaned and repaired at an authorized Aerus Electrolux store. If the vacuum shuts off, or won't turn on before placing hand over the intake, it's probable the control valve assembly is bad and needs replaced.

Another cause is an overheated motor due to clogged screen at back of bag well, full or clogged bag, dirty afterfilter, bad wiring/connections, clogged hose, clogged power head, or bad motor. It depends largely on the type and model of cleaner. Clogged wands are also a possibility, but unlikely.

Check and clean screen at back of bag well.

Replace bag. Make sure it's a genuine Electrolux bag made by Home Solutions.

Check and replace afterfilter if necessary. These should be replaced after every six bags.

Broken and worn wiring connections are often found in the hose ends due to abuse and normal wear and tear. You can check the continuity of the hose using a continuity tester or multi-tester. If a multi-tester, turn dial to one of the Ohm settings. Place one probe into one of the terminals on the end of the hose. This will be referred to as T1. Touch the other probe to each of the terminals/connections on the other end of the hose. These will be T3 and T4. One of them should read zero, the other should read infinity. Repeat this with the other terminal, which will be T2.

Drop a marble in one end of hose and let it roll through. If it doesn't roll through, the hose is clogged and needs to be cleared. Plug hose into the exhaust port of the vacuum, place other end in the in port. Turn vacuum on. This provides a blowing and sucking action which should clear the hose.
Detach hose from power nozzle (PN). Drop a marble into the wand end of PN. If it rolls through, it's clear. If not, there's probably a clog behind the brush where the intake opening is. You may be able to reach this through wand end with needle nose pliers, or either end with a knitting/crochet needle or a bent coat hanger.

If none of these "fixes" provide the answer to the problem, it should be taken to the nearest Aerus Electrolux store for diagnosis. Repairs or checks involving disassembly of the vacuum should always be done by an authorized Aerus Electrolux service technician.

Due to problems getting it back together, I don't recommend taking it apart. Dismantling and reassembly the cord winder assembly is also complicated and most people have problems doing so correctly. I strongly suggest taking it to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store and spending the money to have an experienced tech do the job. However, if you do decide to try this yourself, there are instructions on the second site below. The first site is for locating the nearest Aerus Electrolux store.

I have a Electrolux canister

I have one of these LE models also. Yes, the on/off button is broken. I have had to replace it twice on mine. My local vacuum repair shop suggested NOT to use your foot to operate this switch, but just press it on or off with your fingers. That will help to keep it from breaking.

My Ultra Lux 2000 beater bar still does not

Make sure all threads, hair, and similar stuff is removed from brush, then try again.
Did you try switching the power nozzle switch off then on?
Does the power nozzle motor run? If not, and you've pressed the reset button, there's another problem. It could be a bad reset switch, or loose wires. There could also be threads or hair wrapped around the ends of the roller. This would prevent the brush from turning and shut the motor off.
If the motor runs, but the roller isn't turning, it's most likely a broken belt.
There is the possibility of the motor having burned out, but not likely.

A definite diagnosis would need to be made by a trained service tech at an authorized Aerus Electrolux store. The one nearest you can be found using the below link.

CORD SPOOL WILL NOT PULL BACK

Try tilting the vacuum to about a 45 degree angle. Gently tug and release the cord a few times. This usually will release the cord. If not, the cord winder may have broken, or the spring came loose, and it needs replaced/repaired. Take it to the nearest Aerus Electrolux store for help/repair.
