What does the key light stand for on lux7000 canister vaccuum?

The light on the top of the 7000 that represents a "key" as you state it, is actually a "No Bag" light. That means to check the bag compartment for a bag. Replace if you do not see one. Close the door, push the start button, and voila....it will start. If it doesn't , make sure the bag top (cardboard) is flush inside. It may be missing the bag switch. Hope that helps!

360 manual

With all that's involved in replacing the cord and potential cord reel damage, it's more cost effective to just have the entire cord reel, complete with new cord, replaced. Less time consuming thus less costly to you. Hope it helps!

The unit will run until you attach tge hose then it shuts off

Hi, With a new bag in the compartment, Turn the dial on the top of the vacuum all the way in the opposite direction and try it again. If it still persists, the control valve that you're turning most likely needs cleaned or replaced. I can help with that. Hope it helps. [email protected]

Cannot find filter in bag compartment

Hi, If you're looking for the exhaust filter, it is on the top of the machine under the crevice tool and dusting brush. If you look at the rear of the machine you will see a tab on the attachment holder. Remove the attachments on the unit Push tab on rear of vacuum on the attachment compartment Lift cover and your exhaust filter should be exposed and should just pop right off for replacement.

How to take cordwinder out of aerus 7000 power cord doesnt retract. so how do i get into the canister where the cordwinder is?

Set the vacuum on the table, bench, etc. on it's wheels, remove the bag and leave the compartment lid open. All internal components are accessed by removing the two rubber side bumpers on either side of the vacuum. This is done by sliding a wide blade screwdriver at the back of the bumper in between the bumper and the plastic rear of the vac and tapping forward with a rubber mallot. Just be careful. After removing the two rubber side bumpers, turn vacuum over on it's back and pull the bottom off but only after pulling about 2 feet of the retractable cord out for clearance. You may then access the cordwinder to replace. I have replacement cordwinders available for you.

I think it's the on/off switch since it doesn't feel right. But I would like to diagnose it before I bring it in for repairs. Can I replace a control switch myself? I can take apart anything!

It sounds like the Rocker Assembly has cracked inside your switch. When they break it's usually in the "Off" position. So this is how you take it apart:Remove HoseRemove BagNow stand the vacuum up and peel back the bumper guards on the left and right side of the vacuum. Peel them back roughly 6 inches and pull straight up on the bumpers. This should release the side of the machine. When doing the other side be careful in doing so because once you release that last bumper, your vacuum will be ready to disassemble. When you remove the bumpers place your vacuum wheels up. Pull the cord out roughly 3 ft, just for slack. Now you should be able to release the bottom of your vacuum. When you lift off the bottom of your vacuum (wheel side) the front cover and the bag compartment will come with it. Just be careful. There will be about 4 wires. Just unclip the wires from the bag compartment. That way you can place the front of the vacuum at the back of the machine to give you more room to work with. When removing the bag compartment, there will be a clear hose that plugs into the lower corner of the compartment. That will just slide off, but be sure when you reassemble that you connect that clear hose back on your vacuum will show a full bag indicator. Now once you have the front cover and bag compartment out you should see the underside of your switch. There will be 2 to 4 screws. Remove them and the cover will release your switch from the underside. When your switch comes out you will have to push the retaining clip on the top of the switch to remove the cover. Once you do that you will see 2 slider switches with a broken rocker in between them. There will be a small spring attached to this rocker so pay attention on how it goes back on the rocker.Go to your local Aerus Electrolux with your rocker and tell them you want a replacement rocker. It should be under $10.00 and once you do that, just reverse these steps.Good Luck!

Aerus Lux 7000: the full

Electrolux uses a pressure differential control valve. This valve measures air before and after the bag. There is a orfice or small hole where the hose connects to the vacuum cleaner, and a orice at the back of the bag canister. As the bag fills up the suction pressure reduces at the hose connection and increases at back of the bag canister. When this happens the control valve has a diaphram that closes, which shuts the vacuum off and gives you a full bag light. There is a thin plastic flange that prevents an o ring on the control valve stem from coming off. The flange breaks, the o rings comes off the stem and the vacuum will shut down indicatiing bag full. The after market price is about 22.00. The valve is easy to replace if you are familiar on electrolux vacuums. When I replace these valves, I use epoxy two part plastic putty on the flange of the valve. It takes 2 days to cure, but the flange will not break.

Disassebiling the unit body

It is fairly simple to get the unit apart, but putting the unit back together properly does require some mechanical expertise.

The unit is held together by the two side rails or "bumpers". Once these are removed, the unit will split apart in two halves.

  1. Ensure the unit is unplugged.
  2. Open the bag door, and remove the bag.
  3. With the bag door open, peel about one inch or so of the rubber from each of the side rails back
  4. Insert a tiny flat head screwdriver into the T shaped channel the side rail sits in and lightly tap it in about 3/4" or so
  5. Pull the side rail out using a needle nose pliers. Repeat for the other side.
Once you have the side rails removed, your Electrolux 7000 unit is easiest to disassemble and reassemble if laying on its top. Remove the bottom half of the housing first.

Here is a quick video of the disassembly.

I would recommend taking the unit to an Aerus dealer or a local professional repair shop for any major repairs.

Vacuum goes on for a

First, turn dial on top of vacuum counter-clockwise so the smallest dot lines up with the arrow. See if it stays on. If not, detach hose and turn vacuum on. Place palm of hand over intake. If it turns off, it's possible that the tubes connecting to the CVA are clogged and simply need cleaned. This is most often caused by using "made to fit" Electrolux bags. Dust is sucked through the bags and into the motor compartment of the machine. All interior parts get covered in dust and need to be cleaned. If this is the cause, the vacuum is best cleaned and repaired at an authorized Aerus Electrolux store. If the vacuum shuts off, or won't turn on before placing hand over the intake, it's probable the control valve assembly is bad and needs replaced.

Another cause is an overheated motor due to clogged screen at back of bag well, full or clogged bag, dirty afterfilter, bad wiring/connections, clogged hose, clogged power head, or bad motor. It depends largely on the type and model of cleaner. Clogged wands are also a possibility, but unlikely.

Check and clean screen at back of bag well.

Replace bag. Make sure it's a genuine Electrolux bag made by Home Solutions.

Check and replace afterfilter if necessary. These should be replaced after every six bags.

Broken and worn wiring connections are often found in the hose ends due to abuse and normal wear and tear. You can check the continuity of the hose using a continuity tester or multi-tester. If a multi-tester, turn dial to one of the Ohm settings. Place one probe into one of the terminals on the end of the hose. This will be referred to as T1. Touch the other probe to each of the terminals/connections on the other end of the hose. These will be T3 and T4. One of them should read zero, the other should read infinity. Repeat this with the other terminal, which will be T2.

Drop a marble in one end of hose and let it roll through. If it doesn't roll through, the hose is clogged and needs to be cleared. Plug hose into the exhaust port of the vacuum, place other end in the in port. Turn vacuum on. This provides a blowing and sucking action which should clear the hose.
Detach hose from power nozzle (PN). Drop a marble into the wand end of PN. If it rolls through, it's clear. If not, there's probably a clog behind the brush where the intake opening is. You may be able to reach this through wand end with needle nose pliers, or either end with a knitting/crochet needle or a bent coat hanger.

If none of these "fixes" provide the answer to the problem, it should be taken to the nearest Aerus Electrolux store for diagnosis. Repairs or checks involving disassembly of the vacuum should always be done by an authorized Aerus Electrolux service technician.

The store nearest you can be found by following the instructions at the below listed link:

My electrolux ultraone keeps cutting

This is not an Electrolux Lux 7000. Totally different companies.
However, check the hose for clogs. Drop a coin down one end and lift so it should drop out the other. If it doesn't, there's a clog that needs cleared. This can often be done by pushing it out with a broom handle.
