Why is temperature light on?
bag may be too full or you have a plugged hose or powere head.This is an overheat light to protect the motor...Chris
How to fix
The machine may be over heating.Check the hose and power head for a block.Or,put in a new bag and suck in a few pieces of tissue to coat the lining of the bag....Chris
Unclog vacum hose
Disconnect the hose from the canister and connect it to the blower end of the canister and this should blow out the debris or rag stuck in the hose.
Electrolux EPIC 6500 won't stay on
find and clean all filters,if an air compressor is available take it apart what you can and see if you can get to the motor and blow it out and check for restrictions in hoses,motor has overload protection and dirt will make it overheat and shut off when it cools down then it works again and or check electrical cords and sawitches
Need to change filter
There should be a tab to push in slightly to lift the rear tool caddy off and change your filter. Look at the rear portion of the tool caddy just above the bumper.
Replaced cord and now the temperature light comes
You have crossed the wiring internally. Change the wiring on the motor shroud and inside of the top housing, so the longest wires reach the furthest point.The wiring harness is very practical in the way it's leads measure.
If your wires have come off the thermostat lite and green lite you may simply have reversed them. The green lite should be on, stat lite off so look there first
You can test your rewire job with the upper body and motor and rewind assembled, with the vac laying upside down in front of you. Simply depress the bag lockout switch in the front door of the vac with a finger.
