Most seals completely prevent clothing ie a tiny kids sock or other kids clothes. if it's bouncing about in side the exterior drum, something has broken and fallen inside there that shouldn't be. Disconnect the power to the unit this should reset it for you.

Give it a good clean with antibacterial sprays or dilute some dettol with water then leave it to air dry. Hope it helps
