sounds like LCD water damage. You can replace the LCD screen if you can find that part.

If your gps does not come on anymore, there seem to be a problem somewhere, which most likely is from either the battery, the charger or both. Try another battery in the gps to see if it will work, if it works, then it means you will need to get another battery for your gps.
Test the charger also on another gps to see if it will charge, if it charges it, then it is okay, but if it does not, then it is bad and need to be replaced. Either way, you have detected the cause and solved the problem.
But if your gps normally comes on and does not read map or signal, then you need to reset your gps. Or update to the latest version of software for your GPS.

I did a hard reset

I had same problem. Finally got mine sorted!!

Try a full reset. Hold the quick launch button and the rotate screen button simultaneously (top and bottom of 4 buttons on left of device) and then use stylis to press in the reset button (on top edge just left of SD card slot). Keep depressed until it resets then release the 2 buttons and then release reset button.

It will appear to do the same but it tells you at the bottom it is doing a reboot or something. After 30 secs or so it then goes past and gets to the screen align screen.

You might loss settings but it worked for me
