Are you sure that it is not asking to be updated?

Hi

There is a possibility that the antenna is defective. Sometimes a factory reboot helps or re-burn of the firmware. One way to confirm an antenna problem is to go into the tools menu and select "about". If the screen says "GPS S/W = 0.0 (should be a real number like 2.9 or 3.0) then this indicates that your antenna is not communicating with the main board.

U will find that the price of the screen if avail is more than the GPS cost and will only be avail (which i doubt) from the manufacturer

software try to restore it call the company or search their site

First you need to set your home adress as one of your favorites. Then set it as the home adress.

This is on page 62 and page 76 of the manual. It has a step by step.

When you go to new destinations it say,s enter an address. It will say street first or city first (enter) right side will say sym or 123. you can toggle between the two. If you can find a manual let me know please.

Your navigon gps system should of have came with a cd with the drivers on it. If you didnt recieve it visit the manufactures website. Check the Drivers and Downloads Section.

Well after many emails to Navigon I got the fix for my 2000s What you have to do is download the 1.2 version software for the 5100 install it on a 2GB micro SD Card. Put it in the slot and turn it on. You will have to regester as if you have a 5100 but it will work. The reason you have to use a 2GB card is the maps are to large to go on the internal memory.

looking with the screen towards you, on the right hand side of the gps near the top is a reset

First Time Startup
When you first start your device, the LANGUAGE SELECTION WINDOW displays.
1. Select the appropriate language and tap OK.
The DISTANCE UNIT SELECTION WINDOW displays.
2. Select either Kilometers or Miles and tap OK.
The CLOCK SETTING WINDOW displays.
3. Select either 12h (am/pm) or 24h and tap OK.
The selected options will be used by the device.

did you try reset to get back to the first time setup as posted above?

Basicallly, go to google.com, then in search area TYPE press first the image, then type in the Puerto RIco Map then enter.. after you see the pictures or map, point your mouse to the MAP of Purto RIco the right click after right click press copy then go to the desktop and press control V meaning paster. after that you have to double click the file the you can open it in Photoshope or Paint.. remove back cover and disconnect battery.

1. Use a thin object to press the reset button located on the right side of the device. The device will be switched off. 2. Press the power button for at least 10 seconds to switch the device back on.

HelloCheck the power source. If the battery of the vehicle has not enough charge, this may happen. Check it. The problem is with its working voltage itsef. OK.

Car gps's don't typically have this feature but if you list the model you have I could tell you easily

With the help of NAVIGON Fresh you can reinstall the software and thus return the device to the factory state. This can be necessary when the device does not work properly anymore or when the software freezes, crashes or otherwise does not behave as intended.

Please be advised that after reinstallation your saved data and favorites will be deleted. After reinstallation a software update or reinstallation of maps can be neccessary as well.

In order to reinstall the software and return the device to the factory state follow the steps detailed below:

1. Check if your device is on the compatibility list for the device restore
process.
2. Charge your device fully with the car or home charger.

3. Connect it via USB cable directly to your PC and turn it on.

4. Start the NAVIGON Fresh program and log in to your account with your
email address and password.

If NAVIGON Fresh is not installed on your PC, you can download the
software here.
5. Go to the menu bar at the top window border and click on
"My Navigon Device" and "Restore Device".

6. If NAVIGON Fresh does not recognize your device, please contact the
service center.

7. Follow the instructions and choose the device which you want to restore.

8. When the wizard has lead you through all the steps, click "next" to
begin the device restore.

9. As soon as the device restore has successfully finished, check for
updates for your device and install them.
