Sounds like a bad timer contactor, Rotary cycle switch is bad.

Check the lid-closed switch. Once filled with water, most machines will not agitate or spin unless the lid is closed.

For the washer to operate the lid must be fully closed, the timer must be pulled out, and the water must be drained.
The main causes for not spinning are:

Lid partially or completely open

Lid or other object has hit the timer knob and turned the washer off

Lid not locked (by the way, not on all washers) and may be not draining.
Make sure the lid is completely closed. Make sure that no clothing is in the lid area.

Make sure the Timer knob is pulled out.
The lid must be closed and locked for the washer to operate. Once the lid is closed, make sure the desired cycle is still selected and then press the Start button and listen for the lid to lock.
Make sure there are no loose metal objects such as coins and paper clips in the lid opening area. Metal objects can prevent magnetic switches from reacting correctly when the lid is closed.


If the washer has not drained, it will not go into spin.

I have the same question but have not find a manual or any other reference that tells me whether this model has a softener dispenser or not. However, I just found this info: http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Fabric-Softener-Dispenser/8575076A/1195942 which is linked to roper washing machine RTW4340SQ0 parts list. It looks as if the washer doesn't come with the softener dispenser as original equipment but that you can buy this dispenser at repair clinic and just assemble it to the agitator as shown in the video that you will find in the link

You will need to replace the water inlet valve. Here is the part to order.

could you please describe the problem you are having a little better?There is no "track" the tub goes on.

Check to be sure the drain hose is above the tub level.
