Machine was overloaded and now the spin cycle will not work
hum check the belt if applicable, the door switch just in case co incidence plays out here, also may have a bad clutch or motor coupler, or worse case problem ur tranny. are u saying it still washes though? overload should not throw out ur spin cycle but can damage ur clutch and tranny? lest u have a digital electronic board on this machine and they are know to go bonkers. some machines actually have a auto fixit for overload or unbalanced issues.
When it spins out it makes a really loud noise
It's more than likely the lower drum bearings. The sad news is they used to be covered by a ten year warranty that Sears took away because they were going broke changing the drum out. So if your washer is less than 10 years old the warranty will not save you and it will cost you between 2 and 3 hundred dollars. High efficiency washers, no matter the brand are pure junk. I've paid for mine twice in repairs. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr Good luck and maybe it's just something stuck under the disk at the bottom.
My washer will not spin and acts like the inner drum with holes is stuck, what is wrong?
One of two reasons: The drum belt has broken and needs replacement, or TWO, check for an object that may have accidently jammed the drum from turning; such as a sock falling into the tract where the drum rotates, or a bad seal. Check the drum for movement by hand, and see if you can free it up manually. Last: check alignment. Look for damaged fittings.
What does it mean when SD is showing on the display
The Sd (5d) error code is displayed on this washer when the machine control board detects a suds-lock condition by analyzing the drag on the washer basket. It will be displayed while the control runs a mini-clean out cycle. If this clean out cycle is unable to remove the excessive suds and correct the condition, then the cycle will end and Sd will flash in the display.
Make sure that you are using HE (High Efficiency) detergent in the appropriate quantity in your washer. If you detect excessive suds in the washer, this likely caused your problem.
Another cause could be a toy or other item under the washer that would cause friction on the drive mechanism. If you do not see excessive suds, check for this type of problem under the washer.
Constantly off balance
I have a kenmore elite oasis top loading washer about 3 years old. I took it apart and checked the springs and the rods and the plastic ends that hold the rods in place and all of them look fine. I run an empty load in the washer and it still goes unbalanced on the spin cycle. My water bill has tripled due to the fact that every load takes 3 to 4 washings. I need help please!
