I have to jiggle the charger of myi HP Pavilion to
Very.
Generally speaking, when this occurs it is usually because of stress that has been put on the jack when plugged into the computer. Picking up and putting down, laying things on the plug, lots of plugging and unplugging
This affects the receptacle, soldered to the motherboard of the laptop in one of two ways.
-The conductive surface in the receptacle is clearanced to a point where the inner or outer power plug surfaces cannot contact. In a few cases, if you have properly powered down, removed the battery, and let residual charge in laptop dissipate, one may attempt to use a small non conductive tool to push the outer contact surfaces back into a position which will allow contact. Be very patient and cautious if you try this approach as the second possible affect of undue pressure is-
- The plug receptacle being soldered to the motherboard undue shock or stress can and will decouple the receptacle from the motherboard power buss. Again with the non conductive tool, if you can wiggle the receptacle around inside the laptop shell this may be the case.
If the latter is the issue, generally speaking this is not something that can be home remedied. Soldering on a circuit board may be done by a skilled technician at a reputable repair shop. Receptacle decoupling may not be an issue as later model laptops have been built with provisions for a certain amount of play in the plug receptacle.

Sounds like an overheat condition. This is common, especially if you have pets or a dusty environment. You'll need a can of compressed air and most likely you'll need to open the machine up to remove the gathered dust and pet hair. Use the compressed air to blow the dust out of the case and clear the cooling fans.

Hi,
This is a normal problem with notebooks, not to worry can be easily resolved.
Follow the undermentioned steps and check it works or not!!
1>Turn the system completely off
2>Disconnect the power adapter and the battery from the system
3>Disconnect any other pheripheral which is connected for example :Printer, scanner, flashdrive, etc
4>Press and hold the power key for 1 minute without any power source being connected to the system.
5>Now connect everything back
6>Try powering the system on.
If it works GREAT.....If not then follow the undermentioned steps
1>shut the system down
2>this time when we restart keep on tappping the F10 key for sometime which would take you to the PHOENIX BIOS SET UP
3>As soon as you reach that screen it might give you an option to click on YES or NO.
4>Yes would be higlighted click on ENTER
5>If you don't get any options like yes or no....not to worry
6>Press the F9 key once which would ask you whether you want to set the BIOS to the default settings or not, which would give you a YES or NO option
7>Yes would be highlighted click on YES
8>Now press F10 once again and then Hit enter on YES option
9>The system would reboot by itself
10>Hope it works this time
IF then also the issue persists
1>Boot the system press F10 to got to the BIOS SET UP
2>If it gives you a YES or NO option ,select YEs and then hit enter
3>look at the top of the screen you would get a DIAGNOSTICS or ADVANCED TAB
4>Selecrt that tab using the ARROW KEYS on the keyboard and then hit enter
5>Under that option it would give you an option to run a PRIMARY HDD SELF TEST
6>Run the test and in case you get any errors like #1-07 FAILED or #1-08FAILED or any other errors ask HP tp replace the hard drive of the system
7>In case th HDD test passes completely which normally takes around 120 minutes to complete doesn't give you any errors then you have to reinstall the operating system
Check this steps ....in case none of the steps work then get back on fixya would let you know how to reinstall the operating system
Regards
