There is a plastic 'bar" just above the top right of your keyboard. The 4th white symbol in from the right is supposed to be a satellite, that is the wireless button.
Put your finger on top of the icon and hold it there for a couple of seconds, when you remove your finger your wireless reciever will be activated and you will see a green message at the bottom of your screen "Wireless LAN Enabled".

What is the WHOLE model number? Some of those don't have Bluetooth.

I think the problem you are facing is an issue with drivers.
to ensure this is a problem as I mentioned, follow the following steps:

• - Click the start button
• - Right click on My Computer
• - And click properties >> click the Hardware tab
• - Click device manager

There you will see the drivers installed for your PC and see if any hardware list is accompanied by a question mark that's the hardware driver is not installed.

Solution to the problem is to install drivers Bluethoot, you may get in the cd when you bought it. if you do not have it, then I'll give the link to get these drivers. (available for Vista and XP). Click here to download driver

How To Install Driver ?

• extract the drivers you have downloaded from the link I have given or cd drivers and double-click setup.exe

• just follow the instructions to complete.

• restart your notebook.

• now you can try again to activate bluethoot

Update Acer Drivers

Seems like this is the case of a bad power supply adapter, and needs to be replaced. But to make sure we are on the right track, you mention towards the last statement, you said that when your laptop is off, and the battery is installed on, and without the power supply, the computer power button would flash and no sign of life right? Well take these step to see if it is the power supply, 1, check to see if the small green light is lighting from the powersupply adapter. If it is not, then 100% you have a bad power supply. 2, does the laptop power on when using the power adapter only, and with the battery pulled out? If not, then 85% still is your power supply and the other 15% is your power jack, either is loose, or bent, as we tend to plug in and out alot. 3, Does the laptop power on with the battery itself without the power supply adapter? If it does, it is not your battery. The reason to the laptop power light blinking with the battery installed only could be that the battery is low/drain and does not have issufiect charge to power up your laptop. And to say that when your system is on and your plug in the powersupply, and the small battery icon says it's charging but actually it is not. It could still be your powersupply, it is damaged but a smart chip installed on your powersupply only sending signal to your laptop, this chip is only to prevent the battery from over charging. So if you have another power supply, you cna test this out. But at this point, they was you described things, I believe it to be the power supply. Well, the acer 6530g has a software problem, or well, not the computer, but the thrash acer sells it with.

the problem is specifically the Battery manager.

I dont remember what its caller, acer battery manager or something, its showing on your taskbar and will open once u click the battery.

Anyways, for some reason, it puts ur CPU to powersave, which will turn it down to about 2-5% of its original capacity.

So all you got to do is to access the program, move the CPU slider to 100% and it should be gone.

It may reset sometimes though, in which case you just repeat.

this problem will not be solved until u remove the acer software **** that came with the computer, mainly the power manager, remove it and you will not have that program again, i personally couldn`t be arsed uninstalling it, so i installed W7 on it on a clean install, works as a charm now!

check wi-fi switch turn on OR install wn7 wi-fi driver

Hi, if you have external speakers, try adjusting the volume there! If you don't, then click on icon, click 'Mixer', adjust the levels. Or click on Start, write in "Sound", Adjust the settings for device/s you use to hear sound.

I had the same problem, and it always seemed to be a resource issue. (CPU running near 100%). Somehow my Acer ePower Plan was set to "balanced" and when i looked at the settings for CPU speed when the computer was plugged in, it was set to LOW !!! So, I changed it high, rebooted and it now sounds great.

It's called a the DC Jack, and you would have to take the laptop completely apart so you can get to the motherboard then De solder the old jack from the motherboard then solder the new jack on the motherboard. Finally you will have to re-assemble the laptop. If you are not comfortable doing this than I suggest you take it to a local repair shop for repairs.
