Samsung HL-67A510 67" DLP HDTV Questions & Answers
Where is Fan #1 on a Samsung 67" DLP HDTV
There are 3 fans with this set. Two of them are at top [inner side] and one in the light engine [inside the light engine]. There is no such button to reset the fan only. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight; will be better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

SAMSUNG TV
I don't have a schematic for this model. So try this.. .when you open the back of the set, you can readily see two fans, a smaller one on the left, and a slightly larger one on the right. Fan #3 should be behind the larger fan in the front and slightly to the right of it. I would first see if it is operating. You can try to clean it with compressed air ensuring you rotate the fan in its normal direction and don't overdo it. If you can hold the blades so that they are not rotated by the compressed air too fast or at all. You might have to slide the main assembly out to get at it and there should be videos on youtube that show yours or a similar model. Anything further I suggest a trained technician.

Can you replace the screen on a Samsung DLP 67a
Yes. The hard part is finding one! the screen itself should not be very expensive as with a flat screen for it is only a reflected surface and as long as the glass on the back is intact, the plastic front can be replaced.

Your DMD (Digital Micromirror Device) is failing, It roughly has 900,000 mirrors on the chip that move away or towards the light for shading. You may be able to find this board through Shop Jimmy or by simply googling dmd board for your model#

Have you examined the color wheel this set should have?look for (remove lamp as it faces that) any segments broken or missing.A color wheel also can have a high pitched or fan like sound but not always.check the wheel first.

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, greenish, or blueish or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as

I have a 67 DLP
It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the
metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly
will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a
small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out
and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass
the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then
that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv
on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular
picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30
seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass
the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv
first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire

How long do bulbs generally last?
Generally,
a DLP bulb lasts about 8,000 hours (if a TV is on 10 hours a day, every
day, the bulb will last about two years). A bulb can last longer if
it's used less frequently. Typically, a bulb in a DLP TV for household
use should last at least three to four years before it starts to flicker
and needs to be replaced.
Thanks!
