My advice, the unit is barly a month old, why fuss with it, take it back under warranty and get a new one. Obviously this one has issues. They will only get worse.

If you have tried installing the printer driver for 32-bit on your computer, you might want to uninstall it first before installing the Lexmark X6650 driver for 64-bit. Go to Start menu -> Programs -> Lexmark X6600 Series -> Tools -> Uninstall. Reboot pc when prompted.
You can download the Lexmark X6650 driver for Windows 64-bit from the Lexmark website. Go to this link: Lexmark X6650 Driver for 64-bit. This driver applies to Windows 7 (64-bit), Windows Vista (64-bit), Windows XP Professional (64-bit).

The paper tray is normally set for 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper. There are adjustments to allow for a variety of papers. Make sure the paper guides in the supply tray are properly set.
The pick up roller may be dirty and forcing the paper at an angle, clean it with isopropyl alcohol and let dry. Use ink jet paper, not laser paper as laser paper is slicker.

Just needs reset hold down power button for three seconds shold work or unplug and plug back in.

Reset the printer to default settings.

1. Press Setup.
2. Go to Defaults.
3. Go to Set Defaults.
4. Select Use Factory.
5. Hit Ok to reset the printer to factory default settings.
6. Reconfigure the printer with the printer settings (Country, Time, Date, etc.)
7. Try copying.

NOTE: Wireless connection won't be affected when resetting printer to default settings.

Since you have removed the tape, be certain that the cartridge is inserted correctly. Check the expiration date.

If inserted correctly and the cartridge date has not expired, your cartridge is probably faulty. Return it for a replacement.

You need to reset the printer to default settings (note: this does not affect wireless settings). Turn off the printer by pressing the power button for four seconds. Press and hold Start (green circle) and the Cancel (red X) buttons on the operator panel, then press power button to turn the printer on. Continue holding down Start and the Cancel button until Language Selection appears. Choose your preferred language. Set the country, date and time and the fax settings if you have one. just near the control panel lift the top portion of the printer which is the flat bed scanner assembly and that should give you access to the ink station

I suggest you uninstall the Lexmark software by clicking on the Windows logo Start menu > Programs > Lexmark 6600 Series folder > Tools > Uninstall. Then, restart pc. If you're connected via the USB cable, unplug the Lexmark printer from your computer. Once pc is on, check if your Vista is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by clicking on the Windows logo Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. To reinstall, I recommend you use the updated driver from the Lexmark website. I am sorry but lexmark dose not support downloading of there OCR software over the internet you will have to purchase a copy of if from a store such as staples. I am sorry for the inconvenience my opinion is you should be able to down load it from them but they want extra money for it.
