What do you mean exactly with "the clutches"?

This is a Transfer Belt Error - "Worn Out".
This is not a consumable item. Have had to contact Epson direct who have arranged for a service engineer to replace the offending item.

Victor_Ott: You have emptied the waste toner bottle, now you have to tell the printer that you have done so. The waste toner collection system has a "latch" (electrical signal) that is tripped when the bottle is full. it may be a pressure sensitive switch under the bottle or a photo-sensor that senses the toner level when full. I don't know the sequence of events to "switch" that latch. Usually on the larger machines it is a series of keystrokes on the printer's keypad, starting with turning the machine off and holding down a series of keys while turning the machine on (known as the "maintenance mode". Once you are in the maintenance mode, you can "trip" that "latch" to let the copier know that the toner collection bottle has been emptied.

Follow the steps below to clear the "Clean Sensor" error message.

1. Open the front cover of the printer (cover D).
2. Slowly close the cover again. This action will move the lever shown below and clean the sensor.
   
3. Open and close the cover several times. Once the front cover is left closed the printer will start to calibrate.

Once complete, the error should no longer appear and the printer should resume normal operation.

Note: If the error message is still apparent after following the steps above, contact Epson for further advice.
