Make sure you go the the HP website and download the latest drive for your printer for your operating system. save the drive to your computer when you download. Completely uninstall the driver you have now and restart the computer with the printer unplugged from the computer (you won't lose any documents or pictures doing this). Then run the install program you just downloaded.
Hope this helps.
Hello-
I am trying to print
Unplug the printer, Uninstall and Reinstall the printer software and driver as below:
Uninstall the printer by Going to Control Panel, Printers and Faxes, Right Click the printer and Delete.
Then Go to Control Panel, Add-Remove Programs and Delete any HP related Software.
If you have the disk handy insert in and follow the installation prompts, if not you can download the software from Hp.com.
I hope this solves the problem, if not it could be a print head issue. try cleaning it by following the instructions in the link below.

Can't Print Invitations
There is a workaround for this problem by tricking the printer.
The paper sensor, on my printer model hp4500 seems to only sense the paper at the beggining of the print job.
What I did to trick the printer to print on odd size paper is slide the paper adjuster to 8.5 and put a regular white sheet in. Then put your odd size paper under it. When you print your document set the number of copies to 2 and print.
The printer is going to sense that the paper is correct, and start the job.
Here is the tricky part... once the first 8.5x11 sheet is almost all the way through quickly slide the paper adjuster over to match the size of your odd width paper. The printer should pick up the odd paper and print the second copy. Fool you printa! You should be able to do batches of odd paper size under the first 8.5X11.
I hope this helps.

I need to make double
The HP Photosmart C5580 does not support Duplex (Double Sided) printing, So you will only be able to print on both sides of a page by manually fliping the page over and printing on the other side of it. If you need it to scan both sides the same problem applies, as the scanner can only scan one side of the paper at a time. Sorry and Hope This Helps!
Wont take paper say it
There is a small lever that gets pushed up when there is paper in the tray. Check where the paper is inserted and see if any plastic parts have been broken.
I need to feed custom
You'll need to change the paper size in the printer setup options. To do so, follow these steps:
- In the software application you're printing from, go to File menu and select "Print."
- Open the dialog box that will open the printer's properties, options, setup or preferences (name depends on the software used).
- Click the Features tab.
- Under Resizing Options in the Size drop-down list, select "More."
- Choose "custom paper size" to enter the dimensions of your card stock.
There are other options you may want to tweak to customize the print job for your paper type, resolution, orientation, &c., as well.
Good luck!
Print cartridge alignment on my

Printer prints addresses on paper, not envelopes,
make sure you feed in the envelopes correctly and adjust the guides to fit the size of envelope you have in the manual feed or paper tray verses the size of envelope you choose in the print settings from the application you are using (MS-Word) e.t.c, also make sure that envelopes have the correct paper type and design for printing i.e( without metalic clips, not too thick to pass through the fuser)
size 10 is usually easy to go through for example.
