RAM Upgrade for AcerPower F5
Just to make sure, you are UPgrading the RAM aren't you, it originally has 1GB in it, didn't it? Because i Hate people that change things when it is unnecessary.
But you are right it helps to look at the little label on the RAM you took out as to what kind to get, try to get the same speed will probably guarantee it will work.
I have 1tb hdd but the windows did not detect my
If it is seen in the Bios ..it probably just need a 3rd party Raid driver to operate it ...I assume that it is on a sata bus...and the problem is kinda common ...Another thing ..take a look in the cmos setting and look where the hdd is seen if there is something called ACHI ...that needs to be disabled in order to see the disk auto in windows...otherwise it will be detected in bios..but when you try to install windows on it it loads the primary files and says that it do not find any hdd..on the system ..
If you already have one disk with the operating system and you just added this one ...and you need it like a secondary ..try to go to device manager and force the detection by right click on the computer (in device manager ) and choose scan for hardware changes..if it is all ok with it ..this should make it enabled and the windows will install it automatically
Another thing that it may be wrong ...in case you added it new..and like secondary ..is that it is not formatted and has no partitions ..in this case try to use a program like partition magic or ..a bootable windows to run it until you see the partition ...and from the unpartitioned space will appear ..make at least 2 partitions and stop the installation ...
than just boot normally ...and format the partitions in windows..
If it is a Ide hdd be sure you select the right pin -jumpers position ..in accord with the position on the ide cable ...I mean master or slave ..
In all cases default the bios settings first ..and after that look for ACHI feature and disable it ..
When I tried to install windows xp to acerpower
This means that you have a SATA hard disk and you need drivers to install the hard disk first and than to continue the installation of windows.
Enter the BIOS and check for a compatibility mode for the hard drive. It should be set on AHCI. Change this for compatibility mode and try to install the O.S.
If you don't have this function, insert the motherboard CD in the optical drive and a diskette in the floppy disk drive. Boot from the CD and a menu will appear. In this menu choose the option that will create you a SATA drivers diskette.
After the insert the Windows XP CD in your optical drive. But be careful because you have to install the drivers first. After the installation process is on the way take a look on the grey bar situated on the bottom of the screen.
Toward the beginning of this process, a message will appear
that says Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID
driver.
You have to be quick on the trigger to press F6 to install the drivers. After this step continue the installation as normal.
If you need further assistance or you haven't understood something leave a comment.

Won't boot and doesn't even get to BIOS
You definitely have a hardware issue so you need to go through a process of elimination to figure out what it is.
1) try another video card (if you are using a video card)
2) try your on-board video (if you have it)
3) take a look at your motherboard to see if any capacitors look bulged
4) try another power supply (although the computer is getting power, it might not be getting "good" power)
Usually if it is the memory you will at least get a beep. This sounds like it is probably your mobo if it isn't your video card.
I have an acer power f5 which canot accept a 1GB
Try the 1gb chip on its own. (with no other chips)
If it still does not work check your motherboard manual
Make sure that your memory is supported by your motherboard.
You will need to know the type and speed of the memory chip you have.
If the memory is a match and it still does not work it may just be stuffed. Did the memory work in another machine?
Hope this helps
My Employer Says They Are Going To Cut My Wages. Can They?
If you are in the middle of a contract, then cutting your wages is almost certainly a violation of your employment law rights. While I am by no means an expert on this matter, I did have a similar issue years ago - mid-contract wage cuts - and I hired an
employment attorney to fight the case on my behalf. It turned out that my employer was basically looking to scare people into taking the wage cut.
They got into some pretty serious legal trouble for their transgression, and nothing happened to me in terms of wage cuts after that. If you are between contracts, your employer can re-negotiate your salary, but as far as I am aware, if you are in an agreed-upon contract, they cannot just decide to reduce your salary. If you want to settle matters, contest this action with support from a legal professional.
