Overheating shutdown

The radiator on the processor is clogged with dirt - you will have to open the case of the pc and using a vacuum gently but thoroughly clean the interior. For tight spaces use a soft brush.

I have this T5048 Emachine and its been great for

Turn the computer on, install the Recovery Disk in the optical drive. Give the optical drive a few seconds to read the Recovery Disk.

If the recovery disk is not read, and does not start automatically, go to Start, My Computer, and double-click on the optical drive icon.
(D: drive)

When the Recovery Disk starts, and comes to the question, "What do you wish to do?", click on Destructive Recovery. Also may be listed as Full Installation.

My ComputerJust Shut Downs And When I turnn It On

Overheating - as the warning says.
Open the case and clean the inside, check the fans and add extra ones and, as a last resort, use the pc without the side panel to have a better cooling.

When turned on the computer power light comes on

Sounds like the memory is faulty. If there theres more than 1 memory module just try one at a time until you find the faulty 1. If only 1 in there replace it the speed of memory should be written on the old one. Cheers from Scott pls dont forget to vote

Can I load Windows 7 on an eMachines T5048 with

Yes you can Load windows 7 on the Emachine with those specs. It should work well, much better than Vista (in my opinion). Your machine has all the specifications necessary for windows 7. The only thing is if you want all the graphics bells and whistles to be enabled you need a better graphics card. Something to keep in mind!

My fan shuts off or runs slow where can i get a

You are going to need to know exactly what size, and what voltage you need to replace it with. If you remove the fan in question, there should be info labled on it (Make, speed, voltage, part number, etc.) I also found some good DIY info here:

Also you can click here to see what kind of variety this guy has to sell to you:

HAD BATTERY FAILURE MESSAGE - NOW COMPUTER WILL

The battery is a small round silver lithium battery found on the motherboard, it keeps the memory of the bios and the settings from being lost when the computer is turned off, using a very small voltage. If the battery fails the bios then looses all its settings, normally returning the computer to default factory settings and asking you to reset every time the pc is booted, in your your case it would be worth unpluging from the mains and taking the side cover of the pc, find the battery and completly remove it there is just a little spring clip holding it in place, so just use your finger nail press the silver clip backwards towards the plastic rin of the battery holder and the battery should pop upwards allowing you to remove it, then try to boot the pc, if the same thing happens, you will have to change the battery. You can pick up batteries at your local pc store probably for nothing if u ask nicely, insert the new battery and then boot the mechine again. post back and tell me what happens.

My fan on my desktop computer is so loud, it just

Open the case and clean the dust and debris out around the fan.  Also check to see if fan is hitting any wires or plastic plugs and tape them out of the way.  Apply a little REM oil or silicone spray to the spindle.  Then put the case back on and give that a try old chap.  Still no luck?  Then your fu.k.d and need a new fan.
Cheers.

I need to format my emachine hard drive. I don't

http://www.emachines.com/support/product_support.html?cat=Desktops&subcat=T%20Series&model=T5048
here you will find all drivers for your emachine ...
so ..assuming that you do not have expiriance ...I will try to explain in short how to do it ...
just insert the cd ...( be sure ya have the cd key if needed..) ...restart and press del to enter bios for to change the boot order to boot first from cd ...or ...
you can press F8 at start and choose to boot from cd and enter ...it will boot one time from cd ..and enter windows set-up..
after inspecting your computer will load primary drivers ..and ask you for the agreement press F8 again to agree...
inm this moment it will scan for previous installations and will show findings ...this is the moment that you press esc for to not repair or any ...than choose the C partition ...and see that you have D for delete it ...than enter to continue and L to confirm ...than C to create again and enter to format ....CHOOSE TO FORMAT INTO ntfs MODE...QUICK OR NORMAL ...
If you didnt format it a lot it doesnt matter too much ..but normal NTFS will take longer to do it , but it has a better efect ...from now on it will load the files ..and restart to continue the installation ..
the other partitions just format them from the windows ...by right click them ...and choose format ..from the list of commands..

Pc keeps trying to start up but states it needs to reboot and won't. I have tried to insert the operation disc and it does not work either

it probably says insert suitable boot device. If you are trying to boot from a cd go into the bios and set the boot device priority to CD as priority. If hard drive then set hard disk to the top.
