Desktop PCs do not generally have wireless switches. These are usually only to be found on laptops, netbooks and some nettops.

It is unusual for mid-specification desktop PCs like yours to have a built-in wireless function.

So the answer is that there is no wireless switch.

You can make a desktop PC wireless enabled by adding either an internal PCI wireless card or plugging in an external USB Wireless Adapter (far simpler). With these devices and their drivers and software installed, you will see a wireless icon bottom right of screen. Right click on this icon > View Available Networks/Connect to a Network to find your router's signal > once you connect to your wireless router by entering the SSID (router name) and Network Key (encrypted access code), the PC will be able access the internet wirelessly.

Once it is wireless enabled. whenever you turn the PC on, you just wait for the wireless icon to indicate you are connected to the internet (usually a blue globe).

There will never be a need for a wireless switch.

Are there no indicator lights on the reader when you insert the card? The likely case from what I hear so far is that either the whole reader's unplugged somehow or that you've let your OS and antivirus set things up so they don't just read any media that's plugged in without your going in to some panel to authenticate it. Since they're cheap, I'd try getting another reader and seeing if things improve; or at least you can find that way whether it was the reader, or someone's toddler came by and bit your flash memory hard when you weren't looking....

If you really want to reset your computer to the state it was in when you purchased it then you will need to get a hold of some recovery disks.
